I am really happy to give away my this years "Christmas Mix" (Number 05). This time I decided to record my DJ Mix in a Club in Germany (Augsburg) called "Kesselhaus" which I really love. A work 12 months in the making, Alex Lentini & STOMP BOXX deliver a standout EP debut.

The Italian pair – living at the extreme opposites of their country’s ‘boot’ will be new names to the Drumcode faithful. They first appeared on the label in December 2020, with a strong contribution to A-Sides Vol.10 titled ‘Expanders’. 

So impressed was Adam Beyer with their productions, a fulsome debut EP was secured soon after. ‘Fine Line’ was conceived in the final stages of 2019. With the extra studio time lockdown provided, the duo enjoyed a creative freefall,  
allowing them to refine a five-track work that sits at the intersection of home-listening techno and dancefloor functionalism. 

‘Natural Desire’ has a definable spunk to it, as pulsating chords undulate towards a breathy pad-laden finish. ‘Shifting Soul’ is exquisite, as crunchy drums and a rousing vocal ensure it’s a memorable addition to the Drumcode canon. The title track is colourful and thrilling in equal doses, as muscular synth lines coalesce alongside pin-sharp rhythms.  
‘Altered Cycle’ is skilfully composed and marked by a stirring melodic lead and funky percussive underbelly. ‘Curved Blade’ is abrasive and gritty, before a dreamy spoken word interlude arouses an introspective mood. A fitting soundtrack for our times.

In 2014, https://soundcloud.com/emmzet made his first move as a dj by creating the 'isolated' events brand alongside his friends, which took place in various German cities. Not satisfied with just being a dj, Emmzet delved into the world of electronic music production and has since released his original records on a variety of labels across the world, with releases on Katz & Kauz (Hamburg), Baikonur Recordings (Russia) and Triplefire Music (South Africa).

Katz&Kauz Podcast 046 - EMMZET

In this podcast I wanted to take the listener on a journey through several stages of transformation. Using the knowledge I have gained so far from my sound healing studies, I designed this mix to evolve through the same type of phases we use to heal and transform. The stages are: Resonate, Relax, Release, Reform and Reflect. 

Sound and music is such an amazing tool to get into the deeper layers of ourselves and from here we can allow the stagnant, the old and the non-serving parts of ourselves to dissolve and transmute this into new higher vibrating patterns and frequencies. 

I've realised how much techno and music has helped me to release and let go, as well as giving me new inspiration and appreciation for life. I hope this mix will give you what you need at this moment, whether it's to relax, release, reform or reflect.
