 You showed us how to listen, yours was the genius heart
 Unlocking glorious rhythm within the various parts
 Then you suddenly dropped your sticks 
 The guitarist forgot the way to play his licks
 The charts were tossed, the reels flicked
 The saxophone lost his place, put it back in its case
 The vocalist wept and sealed up her lips 
 And the mystery lives from fifty summers ago

 The years flew without message; in time, the trail grew cold
 Some gear went into storage, some of it was sold 
 We weren't that old fifty summers ago

 And now the tribe has gathered around the steaks and beer
 Our lives forever scattered - except this day of the year
 When no one repeats your name or thinks you might surface again
 From somewhere kept back in dusty archives of regret
 No one still thinks you're coming, nobody hears the drumming until
 One of us puts in the cassette

Insane by the game of feeling the shame judged by a jury of peers

Prison guard punches doesn’t give reason doesn’t understand his way.

Hoping for umbrellas while rain falls harder as one more you have to save.

An original I used to play a lot at gigs but have never recorded until now. It has jazz musician Mike Hester originally from Boston but now residing in Port Lincoln on alto sax. I wrote him outr the sax part and he nailed it.. Thanks Mike.
