Wrote this after playing the Sitzmark in April of 2024; some real sporty cats were building human pyramids on the dance floor and decided world be fun to capture that memory in a tune. The rest is just a comedic look at the late night hours of the raucous bar scene.

Last Call

Wrote this tune the morning after jamming all night after going to a packed-house Roland Roberts Band show at the Fishook Bar in Hatcher Pass, AK, in Feb 2022.

Wrote this in my car between Spenard and South Anchorage on my way to a Super Saturated Sugar Strings gig at the Sitzmark in Girdwood, AK. Was thinking about them and all my Alaska Folkfest friends because we were going to see each other soon.

T.O.I.L. is The Forest That Never Sleeps (Kat Moore's) debut album. It was recorded in November 2015 at Wattage Studios in Anchorage, AK, by engineer by Chad Reynvaan (The Chromies, Medium Build.) Recorded one Saturday afternoon in a raw and unproduced all-in-one session in a "two strikes and you're out" approach (being a perfectionist, Kat wanted to approach the recording as a two take maximum, to aptly capture at realistic snapshot of her playing ability at the time; failure to nail the track in two shots meant it was axed from the collection) the album lost out to Kat's sense of vulnerable insecurity (or giant ego?) UNTIL NOW!!!!

No longer fearing her deficits as a musician, she's sharing this music as a thank you to all the friends, family, fremily, mentors, and fans for always being so supportive. Your endless encouragement helps musicians write from the heart and have a safe place to share it. Also, a nod to all those kind and passionate hearts that inspired the tunes on T.O.I.L.
