 Big Spirit formed in New York City in 2016 as the songwriting vehicle for singer Sed Pepper, guitarist Simon Langford and drummer Amy Franz (ex-Super Wild Horses). Drawing on an NYC legacy of bands like The Velvet Underground, Ramones and Blondie while imbued with an Australian Rock lyricism reminiscent of The Go-Betweens and INXS, Big Spirit’s tough pop harks back to a raw, street-talking sound, when Rock n Roll still had something to say. 2018 saw the release of their debut LP Get This! - a blistering, 10 song jaunt of sharply executed rock songs. Following up in 2020, with the line-up change of Daniel Bombach (Your 33 Black Angels) on bass and Justin Greville moving to drums, their sophomore album Jungle Of Love builds on the promise of Get This! and delivers something entirely more.
