For Dutch producer Betonkust making music is about two things: creating something beautiful and having fun whilst doing it. Synth-driven at its core, his gritty, hazy output zigzags between acid, electro, new beat and techno influences and has formed releases for a wealth of great labels like Dalmata Daniel, Nocta Numerica, Mothball and Crimes of the Future.

Aside from his solo work, Swiere has collaborated with several producers, most notably Palmbomen II with whom he released a debut LP for Dekmantel, on top of a collection of EPs for the Dutch festival's label arm as well as 1080p and Pinkman. It's been a fruitful relationship, one that's also birthed his most recent solo release Concrete Coast, which finds a home on Palmbomen's World Of Paint imprint.

Described as "electronic goth pop" (yes please), the LP ruminates on themes of "transience, giving up and the infinite sadness of humanity" and sees Swiere taking a different approach to his dance floor-focused productions, weaving his vocals through twinkling synths and shimmering electro pop melodies.

His mix for riffs off some of these influences, coasting through synth-pop, electro, dub and a personal favourite of mine by Gabriel Yared from Betty Blue. Tune in and take a load of this Thursday afternoon...

I'm very happy and delighted to present to you another fantastic mix for the Sunset Lovers, from French legend and Belgrade's favorite Sacha Mambo. 

Class-A DJ, producer, Macadam Mambo label boss, and digger for over two decades, Sacha's specialty lies in creating narratives. 

Sacha is one of those special DJs that manages to find the links between completely disparate styles of music and weave them together to create life-changing moments and rich narratives. 
He is certainly one of those few acts that can keep you on the dance floor for hours and hours on end, drawing you into their vision until the end. Very few DJs today are as experienced and good as Sacha.

His musical culture taps into a wide spectrum of influences. Playing everything from Leftfield, Dub, acid-house Techno, Early Rave, Jungle, IDM to experimental, post-Punk, Krautrock, or weird electronic sounds…, his knowledge of rare gems and infectious oddball obscurities is second to none. 

When he’s not DJing all over the world, Sacha runs the esteemed Macadam Mambo record Label out of Lyon with releases by Eva Geist, Abschaum, Eiger Drums Propaganda, Zmatsutsi, Jin Cromanyon, Houschyar, and himself under numerous aliases,(which celebrated its 10 years in 2022) between Lyon and Belgrade.

He curates his long-standing show at Lyl Radio as well as Macadam Mambo shows on Kiosk Radio.

Laurent is one of our favorite DJ’s from the Parisian scene. Known for his delicate tastemaking selections, his mixes are always a pleasure for the ears and the heart. He runs the Idle Press label... do you remember that Pitch re-issue in 2016 with this great Tolouse Low Trax remix. In the bag forever.

IFM # 50 - DJ Sundae - Knekelhuis - Intergalactic FM

The consistency and relentlessness with which Florian Stöffelbauer is managing to produce high-quality output in all sorts of different domains and modalities is almost unbelievable. 

For one, he is co-founder of the outrageous “Neubau” imprint which has been releasing consistently forward-thinking music since as early as 2015. He also co-runs the fantastic YouTube channel “Basic Rhythm”, which makes him (at least partly) responsible for the recent wave of Stefan Egger resurrections. Flo also ran a party of the same name (most of which happen in Vienna but with one “away-game” in London) and he was furthermore behind the retailer “Discus Throwers”, selling tapes and vinyl from his home-base in Vienna. Last but not least, he is a killer D.J. going by the name of “Heap”, an alias under which he has recently done recordings for Tim Sweeny’s Beats in Space Radio as well as the infamous Dekmantel-Podcast series.

With all of this greatness under his belt at the tender age of 26, one can only imagine where Florian is going to take his talent and dedication in the future. For 5918mins., he bangs out a mix that left both of us speechless and in awe. It is a mix as relentless as his consistent greatness, with almost two hours of killer after killer after killer. Flo weaves together a variety of tracks defying standard genre-classification, with the right dose of humour, meta-commentary through lyrics and a feel for the unpredictable. We can only say thanks to Flo for providing us with this absolute high-light of a mix and wish him all the best in his endeavours to come.
