[MEDS X] This new release by 00970, Khatim Sulaiman, is a unique collaboration between a diverse array of artists from around the world. Unified by one imaginative piece, lending itself to a wider spectrum of visions of sound from four unique artists, each having created a variation that stays true to the original soul while infusing it with its own energy and spirit. Different souls originating from one acoustic body, different styles extending from the same sound identity.

Tuqoos, Julmuds debut album release is a 15 track project rooted in heavy beats that bend space and time to subvert forms of enclosure. The sounds have an almost granular detailed texture while maintaining a gripping rhythmic flow via dense bass lines and a bitter sweetness in the melodies, blurring the lines between hanging on a street corner, at a protest or in a club. Produced in Ramallah - Palestine, Tuqoos pushes up against otherwise inaccessible space, resisting the conditions of a body in capture through sounds that morph, slip through and create breaks in times and spaces that remain occupied.

Groups such as Kelab, Ana w dada & El Manzouma (maybe more) also co-founded the record label @[hizz.me](https://hizz.me/) & started the first Egyptian guitar pedal company @nmrpedals - Youssef's music has inspired me so much growing up and continues to inspire me on so many levels.

This playlist is curated from very low-quality records that have been recorded on the streets in local religious ceremonies, but that is what we found fascinating because you don't just listen to a guy in his band singing their religious poems, but you enter full interactive performances in the middle of the street every one on the streets is involving in a way you will see someone goes grab the mic from the vocalist and says something interrupting the whole thing, and other people dancing carelessly between the cars and others screaming.
So you enter an overwhelming atmosphere but for us, in a very inspiring good way, those events are like a sanctuary.
