Lands of strange mountainous shapes, difficult to cultivate and to inhabit that have served as scenery and inspiration for numerous fictions for their beauty where the wind and the earth occupy everything. Landscapes far from the human being represented as secret, fantastic or dystopian places that have been used as a metaphor for the narrative represented and the characters that inhabit it.

As the transmission took thousands of years to arrive at the distant galaxy, it is now a distorted recollection of the final moments of humanity as a species.  While the purpose and origin of the signal is unclear, it paints a picture of the horrors of the end of a civilization.

For Adam 2, electronic music has always provided an opportunity for self-discovery, creative exploration, and personal liberation. Since 2016, the Vancouver-based producer and DJ has worn multiple hats in the city’s growing scene, fulfilling the roles of promoter, music curator, and co-founder of Techno label PPRZ.  2020 saw the release of featured mixes on Honcho, Techno Hour of Power, and the creation of Afrofuturism is Now – a mix series amplifying the music of Black artists. In 2022/23 Adam 2 maintained their stride sharing the bill with Carlos Souffront, Shanti Celeste, and Objekt, had high profile performances at Basscoast and Domesicle in Montreal and recently released their debut EP ‘Jungle Dreams’ on Toronto based label Model Future.  As Adam 2’s career gains momentum, they continue to build their reputation by transfixing audiences with evocative, experimental techno that intersects dynamic physicality and playful cerebralism.

Distant Signals 033: Adam 2

Firmly rooted in his home adopted home Cologne, low Ki operates as a DJ, radio host and master of tea ceremonies. His music collection comprises everything between obscure club tunes and cheesy bar sound, half and double time, sherical meditation and percussive energy. 

Ada Luvv is co-founder of the event series Not So Easy, part of the music label 76666 and recently joined the Cologne-based Crew Illusion. As a DJ, she curates a wide range of styles and tempos, leading to a highly diverse but consistent sound. Having a strong affection for both experimental and classic club sounds, striking a balance between those worlds marks her approach to DJing.
