ถ้าเลือกได้ ในวาระท้ายของชีวิต
ส่วนใหญ่  เราคงอยากตายที่บ้านอย่างอบอุ่น
มากกว่าการตายที่โรงพยาบาลอย่างเดียวดาย
หรือเต็มไปด้วยเครื่องพันธนาการในนามของการรักษา
วันนี้ เราจะมาเตรียมตัว เตรียมใจ และทำความเข้าใจ
ถึง "ความต้องการสุดท้ายของชีวิต" ของคนไข้ระยะท้าย
"การยื้อ"  อาจไม่ใช่ความต้องการของคนไข้
และการตายของคนไข้ ส่วนใหญ่แล้ว
ก็ไม่ใช่ความล้มเหลวของระบบแพทย์พยาบาล
เข้าใจแล้วจะได้ปฏิบัติได้เหมาะสม มีทัศนคติที่ถูกต้อง
ทั้งในฐานะ ผู้ป่วย ญาติผู้ป่วย แพทย์ พยาบาล
และเป็นเรื่องควรเรียนรู้ไว้สำหรับเราทุกคน
ที่ต้องมีวันนั้นแน่นอน ....ไม่ช้าก็เร็ว

Act I Prologue and Scenes 1 - 5

This is the whole of Act I of Russian Jerusalem, an opera in 3 Acts, based on the book by Elaine Feinstein, that is currently a work in progress. In the 5 scenes of this Act, we are transported back to the Stray Dog cabaret in St. Petersburg, 1913 where Osip Mandelstam reads a poem; we meet Marina Tsvetaeva on the banks of the river as she flees the German advance on Moscow in 1941; we overhear a meeting in Moscow, 1934, between Ilya Ehrenberg and Isaac Babel; we meet Osip Mandelstam again, in internal exile in Voronezh after the discovery of his satire on Stalin; and finally we see the Ehrenbergs return to Moscow at the height of the Great Terror in 1937 and their desperate efforts to escape back to the West.

RUSSIAN JERUSALEM Opera in 3 Acts: Act I

I made this track for a composer challenge in the OPIA discord, (challenge: make an intimate track). Made using Glass piano, vintage keys, a korg and sometimes in tune vocals. I also got a "field" recording of me doing an imaging experiment. It's been so cool playing with glass piano, I used to study listening to philip glass alot.. now I'm doing experiments and playing with his piano. so that's fun.

It has been many months since I've found the inspiration to improvise on the keys. I began to think to myself that my improvisational skills were not worthy enough, and had a difficult time enjoying the music that came out of these improvs, so I lost the drive to improvise and stopped. Lately, I decided to get back into it. Still not really satisfied with the results since I'm probably also rusty at it, but at least I've found some motivation to try again. However, I intend to continue my diary of piano improvisations and to get better. Hopefully with more attempts, and with more time doodling at the keys, I will improve at this skill of improvising. 

As always, I'd appreciate any comments on what you think of the piece.

Piano Improvisation No. 59

On April 8, 2023 (Saturday), 3/4 of the target number of songs for this project will be achieved. Taking that opportunity, I plan to change the thumbnail for each song on soundcloud. I plan to change it to an image of a Japanese anime woman that I feel is pretty good these days. It has already been used in the music video below. Please take a look if you like.
