After 40 years of wandering in the wilderness, it's finally time to enter the promised land! But why here? Why now? Do we really have to cross this river?

This morning we talk about how crossing the river is a picture of the life-changing work that God wants to accomplish in his people, and how it probably seemed pretty boring for most to the day.

Some people think things will never get better. Others think things could never get worse. Yet history and experience tell us that neither of these things are true. Humanity can never assume that it has "arrived". In the same way, we are mistaken to think that God has no power to change the current situation. In Joshua 10, we see clear examples of how both things are true and Pastor Adam talks about how God is still shaking up the status quo.

What Kind Of Church Are You?

Seven Tribes of Israel had still not fulfilled the commands of God. Joshua now speaks prophetically to the people. Are their prophets in our day? What does that look like and who are they? We'll talk about it as we look at chapters 18 & 19 of the book of Joshua.

Where Are the Prophets?

In Chapter 20 God commands that cities of refuge be established in the land of Israel. In Chapter 21, God commands that Levitical cities be established. But by the time of Christ, none of this was happening or even possible. What do you do when the Bible has a clear command, rule or practice for God's people that can no longer be followed?
