recording test with my new AKG P120 mic, w/the Hakan P110 Pop Killer filter! really excited abt my new audio recording set up!

if this sounds familiar, that's because i did something very similar before, except with a phone mic and worse vocal technique! see here:

this is that vintage Gonis though. no pitch correction, just freeballin that shit. all vocals single take, with minor timing adjustments. the bass is underlaid with a neat little trick, where you take one of your low vocal recordings, clone it, then using the stretch pro mode you set the pitch to -1200, but keep the formants at +0. gives it a bit of Mass™

generally speaking, quite happy with myself for having cobbled together a respectable home recording set up for around £350. goodbye phone recording, hello studio mic!

well okay, maybe that's a bit unfair. i can always use a phone as a second mic for extra sauce. i notice the AKG P120 doesn't really do *that* well capturing my accordion? it does pretty well with my guitar, though, so maybe expect more of that. B)

-- XLR Cable (neutrik connectors are best, but any brand goes. i got SubZero 3m XLR Cables) (£15 on gear4music)
-- Hakan P110 pop filter w/gooseneck mount (this thing is crazy bang for your buck!) (£54 on andertons)
