UK acid house veteran Steve Lawler teams up with one of the founding fathers of Portugal's underground dance music scene, MC Johnny Def, for his debut release on Adam Beyer's Trusoul imprint, 'People'. 

Ahead of its release on August 19, Lawler shared a few words explaining the vibe and motivation behind his new single: “This track was written because of what I see and hear around the world on a daily basis now - the fighting, racism, sexism, terrorism. As a father, it scares the hell out of me. I had to write something, but never knew how to do it without making a depressing record. So, this is my attempt to make something beautiful, but with the message I wanted.”

Premiere: Devon James 'People Are Still Having Sex Feat. Born I'

Will Clarke drops his second EP on Truesoul this year, building on an impressive debut during winter.

We got our first taste of Will Clarke sonic prowess in February when he teamed up with Eli Brown to deliver the wicked acid house fireball ‘Our Love’. The track stands as a 2019 highlight for Truesoul and ensured Will was in pole position for a follow up on Adam Beyer’s label.

‘Nothing Is Forever’ comes a mere six months later and stands as Will’s first instrumental EP, eschewing his normal vocal-orientated approach to craft a trio of melodically rich cuts. ‘Mucaj’ drips with atmosphere, driven by layered chords and shimmering tops. The title track exudes a peak-time stomp as persistent synths build and undulate with thrilling intensity, all with a menacing retro-techno tinge. ‘Meta’ was made during a pre-dawn session in Will’s studio and is another of the artist’s brilliant juxtapositions of darkness and light, as searing subterranean synth lines and knife-sharp percussion give space to a stirring string sequence.

'It's fair to say Eton Messy are tastemakers. They were born out of a YouTube channel over 8 years ago and have been responsible for launching the career of some well known acts. But more importantly they are focused on shining a spotlight on new comers, supporting and nurturing growing talents, both on their Youtube platform and record label. 

After the successful launch of their ADE Sampler last year, Eton Messy have upped the ante and are back with more tracks and more new talent. Opening the Sampler is Dublin based DJ & Producer Son Orbis, whose growth and experience made him the perfect choice to kick off with, his sweetly pieced together 'Desila', progressively inviting you in with welcoming piano chords. Next up Sattam with 'Footsteps', who despite just starting his musical journey, shows us what to expect from this hot prospect.

'HiFi LoFi' from Baardman takes the sampler in to the night, with a building vocal and deep bulging bassline, keeping the flow throughout. While touring in South Korea Eton Messy found Seoul's Mar Vista and his track 'No Statute'. He's gaining attention from promoters and listeners all over the world right now. Eton Messy favourites Hollis Parker and DJ Rae joined forces to create their latest alias 'Kamereon' and it definitely doesn't disappoint. Their track 'Fantasy' hitting the peak of the sampler. Happy Cat Jay brings a perfect close to proceedings with the gently produced 'Nautilus', leaving you wanting more to take you into the early hours.'
