So, I wanted to occupy myself by trying to re-harmonise Don't Start Now by Dua Lipa, but then somehow managed to discover this mash up instead, which works really well!

Don't Start Now X Treasure (Dua Lipa & Bruno Mars Mashup)

This is a song I had developed the concept, and worked on composition and lyrical ideas for on and off in 2019. Finally managing to bring it together sometime in October, unironically after catching the train back home one night. I wanted to try and base something off of Alex Turner's work, and produce something that musically flowed quite naturally, and lyrically was both metaphorical, yet relatable. 

The song is mainly based around how life felt to me after I had finished college, and I guess vaguely follows some sort of timeline? the "Snowfall in the Summetime" metaphor is actually loosely inspired by a point in 2018, when we had a decent amount of snowy weather. Constructing the song when I did was also a coping mechanism for dealing with my granddad passing away last summer. I guess the bridge section refers to it in a way as that's the bit that emotionally gets me when listening back (which has never happened for me with any of my own songs before).

This is merely an Acoustic Demo I recorded in my room, which was roughly edited and mixed in a studio I now go to. Although the track sounds fine as vocal and acoustic guitar, it's not what I had in mind for it by any means. I'd like the track to be set out more like "The Dream Synopsis" by The Last Shadow Puppets, which is mainly vocal and piano driven, with accompanying Bass, Drums and Orchestral Parts. 

I've been incredibly sceptical about sharing this publicly as it expresses a few things that are rather personal to me, and I also just don't really like it in this current state. But the numerous positive feedback I have received over the months from friends and family has given me confidence and motivation to share it out, so here it is!
