The lyrics of this song were first written at a time when I didn't always feel like I belonged. I then made a choice to change the point of view so instead of writing a song about someone needing help, it became from the perspective of someone offering help, in the hope the song could be the comforter rather than a cry for comfort. Two months after writing the song, my partner Morten had a devastating stroke and I decided I wanted to complete the song and dedicate it to him. Per Ladegård heard the song and offered to record it for me. After many months in hospital and then rehabilitation Morten was finally able to come home and was with me in the studio when I recorded the song.
