Jasmine J Walker is a singer, rapper, author, and actor. She grew up in New Jersey and Brooklyn, New York. She performed and competed in plays and talent competitions throughout her high school and college career. Jasmine has had the pleasure of performing in the play, The Greatest Love Story Ever Told, at the Beacon Theatre alongside Tatyana Ali, Anna Maria Hosford, Guy Tory, Clifton Davis and many more. She performed in Hot 97's Brooklyn's Got Talent in 2012 at the Brooklyn College. Jasmine was a background vocalist on Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds Push the Sky Away Tour. 
       In 2016, she self-published her first book entitled, Seize the Moment. In 2017, she wrote, directed, and starred in her first short film: Bruised but Not Broken, which now has over 400,000 views on YouTube. Jasmine graduated from Delaware State University with a BA degree in Mass Communications in 2017. Jasmine released her second book, Note to Self: A Poet’s Guide to Self-Love, in 2018. 
Lauryn Hill, Eve, Missy Elliott, Nicki Minaj, Nas, The Notorious B.I.G. and Mary J Blige were her musical influences growing up and still are today. These influences can be heard in her debut album, Believe, which was released in 2020. With the recent release of her single "sunshine", Jasmine creatively depicts her struggles with self-love and depression while also tackling social issues including racism and social justice. She would like to be known as, "the girl from around the way with a lot to say."
