Min Jin Lee - PACHINKO interview

I composed the music for the classic Nickelodeon cartoon, "Rocko's Modern Life." Making the music for this show was everything that I thought making a record with a band would be. And what a band, Dave Hofstra is on bass, Kevin Norton on drums and percussion. Rob DeBellis is on clarinet and Art Baron played the trombone. Steve Swell, Curtis Fowlkes, and Jim Leff also played trombone. I'm on guitar and keyboards and the band was recorded by either Patrick Derivaz or Bob FitzSimons. The Theme features Fred Schneider and Kate Pierson from the B-52s. The first cue we recorded with the live band was Trash O Madness. I wanted it be a combination of Lust For Life by Iggy Pop and Benny Goodman Live at Carnegie Hall. We did it one take!

A composition for solo guitar with lock grooves made from original recording then overdubbed with vinyl cuts.

Severance

I most recently composed the score for Dexter: New Blood.  I've written music for Rocko's Modern Life, SpongeBob, Class of 3000 and many other cartoons. I've also composed the scores for HBO's Bored To Death, Showtime's Nurse Jackie and many other films and t.v. shows. I was a member of the B-52s, Raybeats, and 8 Eyed Spy. I've got a new band called SUSS and we play Pastoral Psychedelicism. We've got three LPs out on Northern Spy and a new EP, Night Suite, was released in November, 2021. I Stay tuned for more!
