Cave Babies is the solo project of Josh "Hoshwa" Redman from Watercolor Paintings. You have likely heard of his long-running indie pop radio show in Santa Barbara, CA entitled 5432Fun!!

Cave Babies "Bad News"

Taken from the Nar "History" cassette tape, out on Feb 11, 2014 on Lost Sound Tapes. 43 tracks total, 79 and 1/2 minutes of poppy punk music.

Nar was a band that formed in the early 90's in Sacramento, California featuring members of The Bananas, English Singles, and Ski Instructors. 

You may recognize this song because it was notably covered by their friends Go Sailor and released on the Go Sailor "Long Distance" 7" by Slumberland Records.

"Beautiful and powerful solo album from Lily of Parasol. The opening drone of the album has a Mount Eerie vibe to it before breaking into essentially a slowed down, volume up, pop song. Over the 7 track album, the songs take you from drone to pop to punk to country to heavy rock and roll to folk. The constants, at the forefront of all of these songs, are the production (Recorded by Jay Duguay, Mastered by Will Killingsworth at Dead Air), Lily's guitar and heart. Recommended for those who like Mount Eerie, Waxahatchee, Rose Melberg, and Parasol. In case you were wondering "squill" is a common name for several lily-like plants."

Knife Pleats is the newest project from the prolific Rose Melberg, whose past projects include Tiger Trap, The Softies, Go Sailor, Gaze, Imaginary Pants, PUPS, and several solo records. The first singles from the Vancouver-based project, which features Kaity McWhinney and Tracey Vath of Love Cuts and drummer Gregor Phillips, recall the sounds Melberg is most known for: crisp and bouncy guitar pop and heartfelt lyrics. 

On “One Step Too Far,” Melberg contemplates the passage of time (“Please don’t change too much too fast these days won’t last long”) against lively arraignments. “Terrible” is slightly more pensive, a reflection of the inner workings of a relationship. Both tracks are sure to appeals to Melberg fans old and new.
