Aria Math is a song by Daniel Rosenfeld (C418) that originally comes from Minecraft.

"In the End" is a song by American rock band Linkin Park. It is the eighth track on their debut album, Hybrid Theory (2000), and was released as the album's fourth and final single.

When I heard Aria Math for the first time I immediately started humming "In The End" along with it and came up with this idea for a mashup of the two.  I normally release my work through the usual streaming services however in this instance being heavily sampled, this is not possible for copyright reasons so I would prefer therefore to share this track as an idea and just for fun!

The Iceland EP

Inspired by the release of Nick Cave’s Ghosteen album in late 2019, I felt the need to explore a more ambient sound, to find a pause button, for reflection - something we all need from time to time. 

A place I am fascinated with and sadly yet to visit, Iceland is a country of huge contrast.  From the ice to the fire, you could not find a more spectacular landscape from which to draw further inspiration. 
Here are 4 tracks, each my interpretation of these places.  Each in it’s own right, a place of wonderment, but certainly not alone in the island’s abundance of the truly spectacular.  

Iceland is place where you can truly appreciate silence and the strength it can bring you.  A time to reflect, to listen and to hear.

1. Jokulsarlon
 Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon is both one of the most beautiful and tranquil spots in the whole of Iceland, boasting incredible views of Vatnajökull glacier and the cruising icebergs that drop from it into the lagoon itself. Many have taken to calling the lagoon "The Crown Jewel of Iceland", and it's easy to see why.
 Throughout the winter nights, Jökulsárlón is often deserted, meaning you will have this stunning lagoon to yourself. This is also one of the best locations to see the aurora borealis framed and reflected perfectly against the glimmering ice.  

2. Askja
 The central highlands of Iceland are often left unexplored by visitors, therefore a perfect location to find inner serenity.  
The highlands host some of the most incredible and visceral locations in the country, namely the now dormant but visually stunning volcano Askja. 

3. Westfjords
This is perhaps the most isolated and untouched location in the whole country. No roads slice through the landscape, nor are there any permanent residents. The area is only accessible during the summer months and hikers can walk this area for days without spotting another human soul.  

4. Snaefellsjokull 
On a clear day, if you look out far across the lapping waves of Faxaflói Bay you will witness the glimmering white pinnacle of Snæfellsjökull, resting at the very tip of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula.  
Summiting at around 5000ft, this glacier and active volcano has for centuries been considered one of the Earth’s seven energy centres, a point of cosmic power emanating a rich and mysterious command over the inhabitants of the Snaefellsnes region. 

The cover art for this EP is of an abandoned DC plane on the black beach at Sólheimasandur: 

In 1973 a United States Navy DC plane ran out of fuel and crashed on the black beach at Sólheimasandur, in the South Coast of Iceland. Fortunately, everyone in that plane survived. Later it turned out that the pilot had simply switched over to the wrong fuel tank. The remains are still on the sand very close to the sea. 
What I particularly like about this image is the way the plane is looking almost longingly to the mountains, unable to reach them ever again, to make it home beyond..
