Tenken

An imaginary scenario of romance and cosmic love with a stitched together compilation of ex-loves or imagined ones. Mucho gracias to Dale Allen for his fine guitar work on the countrified sections. My voice, what can I say...it's an ongoing scratch track.

Bright Day

Excerpt from a show, Jaques Brel is alive and Living in Paris,  I played drum-set  many moons ago in Fort Worth at Stage West Theater.  This was the second run. I forget all names but I remember Joe Rogers:keyboard/Michael Bodicomb:Bass/ George Foster(?) guitar/ myself:drums and marimba, circa 1984-ish. That pic of me is from my tour days with Robin Crow , circa 1979.

Overture by Gary Meyer for a Fort Worth Children's Theater production, the Red Balloon,  in the 80's.  He recorded his parts, no sequencing, directly to 4-track cassette recorder, Tascam, using a D-50 keyboard only.  Amazing. I, many years later, without his permission, went back and added some orchestration to hopefully fill out some of his parts including strings, horns, and adding drum-set and percussion. He seemed to enjoy it when I sent it for his approval though I must apologize for taking too many liberties.

Lassitudes

Another in a short series of Xmas 2019 looping improvisations with the LH-306T Loar, a looper and a Johnson J-station. It was played as you hear it, not sped up later except within the piece where it is obviously double-timed.
All done on the 22500 Looper by Electro Harmonics, no DAW involved ( for those of you who give a flip)This looper is great when it works but was glitchy and now dying so I cannot recommend it to anyone. The "Empire" in the title is an oblique clue to the main influence for this tune. Think Germanic. The IMP face is a scare-bird head I colored up to ward off woodpeckers in NM. It worked.. for a while.

Imps Of Empire

Another late 2019 Reichian exploration along a familiar path. One of the earlier pieces to set up the latter few.  Loar LH-306  guitar and the 25000 EH looper, Johnson J-box used.

Pulsing Palsey

This finishes the explorations of the late 2019 motifs developed and toyed with in Uppity Imps and Pulsing Palsey. Recorded a day or two after those two. So, you get the crafted result from the improvs. Gear:  Loar LH-306, Johnson J-box, Pitch Fork, ZoomR-16  deck, Transmisser ( Earthquake Devices... maybe)

Wheels Of EELs

This kept jingling around in my head back in April until I exorcised it one day with a few chords and such. I thought the virus would go away sooner but when it didn't I reckoned I still had a song to finish.
