Zodiac Childs debuts on his own vinyl-only Zodiac Wax imprint with a killer 12" called 'EP 1' - thankfully the music is a lot more fleshed out than the title! We're premiering 'Diviner' which is a gorgeously lush breakbeat cut given a sour aftertaste by that spritely little acid synth line. Blissed out rave vocals cap the whole thing off in style. Highly recommended!

Detroit's Filthiest exposes the falsehoods of society via an electro-funk expedition on wax.

Born in Baghdad Iraq and raised in Detroit, Detroit's Filthiest aka DJ Nasty aka 313 Bass Mechanics aka Digitek has been releasing genre defining tracks since his first record in 1996. After releasing many notable records he went on to create his own label MCEC (Motor City Electric Company) to release records at a furious pace. This was the era when ghetto tech and electro-funk was selling like hot cakes, many selling out locally without national or international distribution. FFWD to today, Detroit's Filthiest wake up call came when Universal approached him for a 313 Bass Mechanics sample to be cleared for Disclosure's "Pass Out". He has since released records on Casa Voyager, Rotterhague, Defected, Exit, FTP and now Philthtrax XL and still produces records from Detroit as he did in 1996.

Welcome to the hyperdome...

Inside you'll find, among other terrifying tracks, this brain-melting IDM excursion from RAIDERS extended family member and all-round savage producer @Moodrich. Rounding out a 20 track dystopian odyssey of a VA from @HyperdomeUK, "Dirt Just Hurt" makes for a fitting finisher, with its disorientating switch-ups and side-swiping synth stabs. All of this rushes at you at hyper-speed, but in spite of the name does not hurt but rather massages your ears with its ethereal vocal and melody. On a dancefloor however, we can imagine this bad boy doing some damage 🧨 Imagining is unfortunately all we can do for now, but this tune and the rest of the compilation make that just a little bit easier 💭
