Clown Starts to Dance is an instrumental trip-hop joint I produced back in the early 2000s. It started on the classic MPC60II, then I pulled it into Ableton and freaked it from there. The track is fully sample-based, with that raw, dusty groove that defined the underground beat scene at the time.

It’s dark, moody, and hypnotic — the kind of instrumental that feels like a lost gem from the golden era of experimental hip hop and trip-hop. This one really captures that DIY, lo-fi production energy that inspired me in those early years.

If you’re into trip hop, instrumental hip hop, MPC beats, and early Ableton productions, this track fits right in your rotation. Taken from my project, Assembling Memories.
