Starting to feel ok with feeling out
Seeing the what this whole thing’s all about
I’m finding - past the pews, and past the doors -
The people that he really came here for

Starting to feel ok with being down
Making signs for gas amidst the proud To Hear my brother say, “I’ve got a family, and mouths to feed”
Teaches me a Jesus-empathy 
I’ve preached all the sermons, know them all
I’ve made all mistakes - and people call them them “falls”
I’m finding the truth is something so much more simple much more simple So simple… 


Startin’ to feel at peace with the dirt & grime the darkest chambers people go to hide I’ve slept in places you’ll know nothing about zip ties for laces, people screaming around  Tattood satan freak - nah, thats just a girl That heroin’s got her brain all wrapped and curled
Matt took a sip and slipped - he relapsed again and dries his eyes from all that tonic and gin

Larry’s is dancin - see him, watch him go.  while Larry lectures on about UFO’s Gretchyn’s eating corn and making unicorns with her socks While Jesus smiles and joins them, one and all
 I’ve preached all the sermons, I know them all
I’ve made all mistakes - and the Pharisees call them “falls”
I’m finding the truth is something so much more simple  It’s so simple… 

Feeling quite ok with feeling out Seeing things much clearer from the ground Strip away the gloss and sheer veneer and dial down the volume you will hear  The cry of every broken boy and girl who failed to step so perfect in the world But I heard it said that God so loved these ones That they’re His pride and thats why he did come
