When I wake up in the morning there’s a moment when I hesitate
My bed colludes and keeps me mired in a resting state
I don’t always think about the reasons why I’m 
later and later -- holding back, not ready for this day		

Now I’m wond’ring what if I’m the one who cast this curse?
If I’m the reason for it how can I shift into reverse? 
In the waters of this world I’m just one drop feeling immersed 
I need some love from the spirit of the universe	

I don’t know what gets into me		
I’m scraping every finite bit of security 	
when I’m floating in an infinite sea of possibility

If I could feel Loved all the time, what would that change for me?
Would I share my songs with a stranger on the street
I want to remember love starts with me and in me and 
I am worthy -- I am worthy

Why do we have to dis each other in a rap battle war?
If that’s what keeps us up at night what are our mornings for?
Why does our value lean on taking others down and keeping 
score? Is that why the sun shines, we sing, and run outdoors?

I don’t think this miracle of life is sewn that small
When my eyes open in the morning let me feel a call
To live into a bigger scene, appreciate it 
all and feel connected as we freefall

I don’t know what gets into me
