This is an absolute masterpiece it's so nostalgic. In my opinion you need more recognition

Blue Canopy's 'Sleep While You Can' (out March 5, 2021) is the newest entry from Portland-based multi-instrumentalist, Alex Schiff. Exploring the often unspoken anxiety related to having a child and what that means for losing the past version of one's self, the EP is beautifully introspective at a time where self-reflection is incredibly crucial.

Formerly the keyboardist and co-writer for indie band, Modern Rivals, the EP is a follow up to his 2020 debut, Mild Anxiety, which was produced alongside Patrick J Smith (A Beacon School), a frequent collaborator.

I wrote and recorded this song (with the help of ) for my wife to listen to “in the morning” of our wedding day. It’s fluttered with background audio from videos of memories we share, and most importantly, it ends with a celebration. “in the morning” is about celebrating the people we love the most.

'Nervous' is an alternative rock song built around an infectious chorus that combines Alex’s melodic indie-rock style with a mesmerizing groove. Wrestling with the unpredictability of his future, “these windows are cracked now I can’t see, but this mirror’s intact and stares at me”, ‘Nervous’ is self-examining yet uplifting and sees Alex observing the complexities of people in relationships, all while finding acceptance in the fact that life presents many challenges that, when faced, can help you mature as a person.
