"When I reflect on the iridescence that is Blackness, in the context of the world and specifically in the context of “turning inward for spiritual nourishment,” these were the sounds that were conjured. 
 
In what ways do we create our own spaces of survival, pleasure, joy, love and support? In what ways does cultural production and art making become a vessel through which the hopes and dreams of our ancestors coalesce?
 
This mix is an ode to the ways in which our voices-- musical voice--as Black people, have created spaces of nourishment for our spirits and souls-- an assertion of our radiant existence amidst historical structures of violence which seek to render our lives and bodies invaluable. Yet, we have always re possessed and reclaimed ourselves."
