Stockholm is the final track of my debut EP & is a warped love song and total crowd stopper. I worked with a progressive rock band, & was inspired by the style of Evanescence and Sleep Token for this one. It is led with a distorted electric guitar, hard-hitting drums and haunting synth sounds combined with gut-wrenching lyrics that tell the heart-breaking story of someone trapped in a toxic relationship, but one they don't want to escape from - driven home by the line "i'd rather be fighting than lonely”.

I Forgot About is a heartfelt song about loving someone so much that you forget to love or take care of yourself. Through the use of sorrowful storytelling; the important lesson of self-love is told. Beautiful piano leads the tune, with deep cello and strings emerging to really bring out the sadness and melancholy of the song.

Let You In (Again) is a joyous song written for those that have fallen head-first in love. The lyrics dive deeply into the beautiful little aspects of relationships, and describes the feeling one has where they would be willing to tear themselves apart if it meant keeping their partner with them. Powerful drum lines and funky guitar leads are featured in this track; giving the song a fun, upbeat energy.

Let You In (again)

Story of You has soft buttery R&B undertones, creating a warm, smooth sound, with an atmosphere that makes people want to waltz with a loved one. Through the lyricism; that wonderful lovey-dovey feeling is evoked and gives the listener a fuzzy heart. This track is a beautiful, 1950’s inspired, love song — almost in the style of a love letter, as the verses are written in first person, directly to the significant other. The first song off my debut EP, To You.

A lyrically-driven infectious pop banger that’ll make you want to dance like no-one is watching. A heartfelt journey of moving on from the break up of your first love, and trying to find a new love when “You left a blueprint for every guy I meet”.

This is my second single of 2024, and the 11th original song I've released. It was recorded at Tokyo Dope City Studios and produced by Ghostpops, and is the first of seven songs from this recording session that I'll be releasing throughout 2024. The song reflects on those butterfly feels you get when you meet that special person who sets them fluttering and makes you feel anxious, nervous, embarrassed, unsure all at the same time... but it feels good :)

“Fighting Uphill” is my most raw & honest song to date, & my favourite lyrics that I've ever written. It encapsulates the heartfelt feelings of the struggle of trying to make a hopeless relationship work when everything is against you, & you feel like you're fighting an endless uphill battle. The poignant harmonies & vocals throughout convey the pain of never reaching the balance of shared love. I'm super proud of my arrangement of vocals & harmonies on this one, goosebumps every time.

Her breakthrough moments include being invited to open for Dami Im at the Cairns Performing Arts Centre, open for Drax Project at the Tanks Arts Centre and perform her poignant ballad I Forgot About Me at Nashville's Exit/Inn. Abi’s band also won the Cairns Passport to Airlie Finals to perform at the Airlie Beach Festival of Music. In 2024, Abi embraced a more unapologetic pop style, working with Tokyo-based producer Ghostpops and released a string of singles that fueled her busiest year yet. She headlined the Queensland Music Festival Tropics Muster, performed at the Tablelands Folk Festival, the Gladstone Music Festival and the Agnes Waters Blues Roots & Rock Festival, as well as her regular, acoustic gigs in her hometown.
At just 21yrs Abi’s achievements include winning the John Lennon Award and the Grand Prize in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, winning the homemade video category and receiving Highly Commended in the Vocal Performance category of the International Unsigned Only competition, along with being a finalist for the Queensland Music Awards for two consecutive years, and being recognised locally as the Cairns Regional Council Junior Cultural Award recipient. She is a true artist with a heart showing support for Cancer Council Queensland with four consecutive performances at the Barlow Park Relay for Life.
