Being a production line of carefully crafted composition with a meticulous production standard, Calyx & Teebee have delivered yet again. And after dominating the Beatport Top 100 with their most recent single ‘A Day That Never Comes / Snakes & Ladders’, they won’t be applying the brakes anytime soon, especially in the lead up to their greatly anticipated second album on the Ram imprint.

Back on vocal duties, Calyx demonstrates the pair’s multi-dimensional approach to beat making. With plucky percussion relaying you through bouncing subs and a drivingly solid bassline, it defines their vast repertoire of style. They’re not scared to dip into unfamiliar territories, with Calyx’s cool vocals sitting on top of lulling guitar rhythms to provide the first part of a diverse and brilliantly crafted record. 

With an album laying just out of reach, each single is bringing us closer and closer to the inevitable. All four tracks prove their still a formidable force to be reckoned with; this LP will only emphasise that fact.

Keeno’s back with a grand gesture. Succeeding his outstanding debut album, “Life Cycle”, the “Futurist” LP soars through sixteen tracks with boundless finesse.

Keeno thrives with his cinematic and orchestral offshoots of drum & bass, silken smooth soundscapes and deep weighty bass.

Opening track “Faithless” sets the scene with elegant and epic string sections jumping into a playful arrangement. With serious drum-work in place vocal talents Oscar Corney, MC Fava and Alice Gasson bring tracks “Lifeline”, “Perspective” and “A Breath” to life with tight harmonies and rich, velvet tones. Keeno hasn’t held back in “Dream Sequence”, “At Twilight” and “Futurism” with majestic grandeur travelling seamlessly through star-lit journeys of sound and space.

The growth and musical virtuosity of this young talent has flourished since signing to Med School back in 2013. By uniting his high-end production skills and classical training in a multitude of instruments Keeno has quenched the thirst of drum & bass lovers across the globe.

Last year Keeno took a leap of faith, deciding to leave his full time education behind to set his sights on what is sure to be a long career ahead in music. It’s abundantly clear this was the right choice - “Futurist” embodies everything we’ve come to expect from this exceptionally talented young producer.

Hidden under Canada’s ice-cold slopes is a core community of producers, DJs, fans and followers, all playing an essential role in supporting and growing Canada’s eclectic underground mountain of drum & bass. In ‘The Future Sound of Canada’ EP the Hospital Records team draw out its key players to keep an eye on, adding six tracks from Schematic, Polaris, Gremlinz and Levrige to their worldwide series.

Leading the EP are two serious solo artists who’s combined discography boasts releases on Drumsound & Bassline Smith’s imprint Technique Recordings and Toronto-based Inner City Dance. As an equally powerful production pairing, Schematic & Polaris have delivered ‘Conduit’ to the EP - a serene trip through deep, melodic drum & bass. Also take notice of their equally special solo offerings: Polaris’ ‘The Light In Your Eyes’ and Schematic’s hypnotic ‘Learn From The Past’ featuring Victor Davies.

Gremlinz - another Toronto talent - switches the EP from ethereal liquid to solid sonic sound waves with ‘Tactical Rail’, matching raw and rapid old-skool drum work with sinister siren calls. Then we come to the Levrige duo, a new project started by valiant Vancouver titans J.F.Killah and Erski who’ve brought an intriguing futuristic jungle, half time style to the mix with ‘The Legend’. Simplistic keys paired with complex percussions finishes up the EP in Stranjah’s ‘Gideon’.

The 2016 revival of the ‘Future Sound of’ series draws to a close after connecting a multitude of drum & bass talent from America, Brazil, Holland and now Canada. All four fresh EPs are a triumph in the discovery of the next generation of producers and only further prove the unstoppable global reach of the genre, all spearheaded by its leading independent label, Hospital Records.

Following a string of successful releases Krakota is back with a massive 14-track collection. ‘Strange System’ marries heavy distortion with razor-sharp clarity, crossing and colouring the black and white lines of drum & bass with his versatile style and slick production. His debut album stands tall and proud shouting his individual sound. Never underestimate Krakota, he’s full of surprises!

In ‘Colour The Past’ Krakota simultaneously tugs at the heartstrings and hits hard in the face with vocals brought by new finding Karina Ramage. The French-Scottish-English songwriter was a surprise find by label boss Chris Goss as he discovered her busking on London’s South Bank. Another clear highlight is his partnering with our second label boss for ‘Powder Coated’ - the perfect mix of London Elektricity soul and Krakota power.

‘Half Life’ is a reminder back to the massive dancefloor damage caused by ‘Ice Hands’, ‘Ghosts’ and ‘Xylo’ last year. Its gritty split of siren calls and deep bouncing bass hits in all the right places. Krakota's musical edge shows in ‘Elastic’ with funk flare and horns hailing. ‘North Winds’ and ‘Turn of Fate’ blend arcade style synth work with crackles of white noise.

A consistently brilliant producer, Krakota’s carved out his own style over the past few years getting his name noticed on dancefloors around the UK and Europe. He's received support from the likes of BBC Radio 1's Friction and well remembered for his tear out live mix on BBC Radio 1Xtra's Soundclash in 2015. His solitary stance in the drum & bass world has been making waves and that’s sure to continue with his outstanding debut album ‘Strange System’.

As we edge ever-closer to our 21st Birthday celebrations, the Hospital crew reach another proud milestone. NHS300 is a limited edition 180-page hardback book, accompanied by a six-track EP of all-new soundclash collaborations, from London Elektricity, Danny Byrd, Reso, Frederic Robinson, Logistics, Ownglow, Whiney, Hugh Hardie, Bop, Urbandawn, Keeno and Krakota.

Compiled by our chief designer Ricky Trickartt and MD/Art Director, Chris Goss, this book illustrates the growth of an idea. Snapshots of our early days in Baron’s Court, when Tom Kelsey became our integral ‘Third Man’, helping us drive a fledgling business forwards. Then into the Purple Gates, where we have spent the past dozen years nurturing a growing team of staff and artists, building underground careers and international event strategies.

In 2016 London Elektricity took on a huge challenge, to step back in front of the crowd not only as a DJ but also as a live musician. With Hospitality moving leaps and bounds over the past decade, growing into a huge 10,000 capacity festival in London’s Finsbury Park, it was the perfect time for Tony Colman to transform his signature jazz infused drum & bass into a spectacular live big brass band styled performance.

It was the highlight of Hospitality In The Park 2016. Electric vibrations ran through everyone in the tent - Tony Colman shredded his bass guitar, jazz legend Liane Carroll and new discovery Emers’ vocals soared with style and finesse, members of the Riot Jazz collective uplifted the drum & bass tempo all led by the never ending energy of our resident Dynamite MC.

The ‘Live In The Park’ LP reminisces back to this unforgettable hour with 10 tracks seamlessly running through London Elektricity classics, new material and a surprising cover.

“The LE Big Band show at Finsbury Park was actually our first ever gig. I had no idea what to expect at all. When our set time came around all 20 of us set up, I plugged in and off we went. the hour flew by in a blur, but the crowd went totally mental, and we were on fire. To hear my music played by a big band was an honour - to be part of that big band was amazing. Anyone who’s been paying attention in the last six months will know that Ram Records is having yet another incredible year. A worldwide dance music institution, Andy C and Scott Bourne’s record label has gone from strength to strength, having nurtured a plethora of the bass music scene’s most exciting artists over the last two decades.

One such artist is Culture Shock. A Ram Records star since his debut release in 2006, this incredible producer has collaborated with Sub Focus and Brookes Brothers and remixed Nero’s ‘Guilt’ and Netsky’s brand new single ‘Come Alive’ into veritable drum & bass anthems. Meanwhile his solo productions have turned dance floors across the globe upside down thanks to his powerful productions and inimitable approach to D&B.

Here Culture Shock follows up last year’s ‘Protection’ with another stunning single that’s sure to please fans of his unique style. ‘I Remember’ is progressive dance floor drum & bass at its finest. Gradually building and growing, pulling you in gently and never letting go, this track is the perfect balance of beautiful musicality and effortless, uninhibited energy.
