I wrote the base of this song on a guitar in the mid 1990s, but I revisited it recently on piano.

The resulting piano style motivated me to build it up with some of the original guitar ideas and some bass and percussion.

Here's a pre-release preview of my new track Nowhere Land. The image was generated by AI with Nowhere Land as a text prompt.

This is a mashup of "Listen to your Heart" by Roxette, and "Save Tonight" by Eagle Eye Cherry. Both songs have a similar chord sequence in parts, so I added them together. The lyrics seemed to fit together quite well, too.

Running On Empty

Some years ago I used to spend a lot of time creating synth loops and finding melodies and chords that were interesting. I decided to get back into that kind of workflow. With a DAW it takes a lot less time. Before a Korg M1 needed to be programmed and sequenced then captured to tape and layered with other sounds. Now you can do it all in a VST.
