Trans Atlantic Mermaids is a podcast that developed out of the phone calls of Fiona & Finn from Co Clare to Co Dublin when they were broke, back broken (literally for Fiona) and on the hunt for happiness, jobs and the ever elusive adulthood. Now living in Donegal (Finn) and  the slightly more tropical San Diego (Fiona). These podcast episodes are inspired by the spirit of those phone calls. How young women, particularly of the millennial variety, supported themselves through tough times and tougher job markets. Fiona is a microbiologist, diving, currach racer, weightlifter and all round wonder woman. Finn is a marine scientist, private chef and the author of the bestselling cookbook Finn's World with Gill Books. Finn & Fiona met in college through their mutual love of surfing, diving, partying and general mermaiding. Episodes will focus on - how to cultivate a positive mental attitude (without being an unbearable hippy), advice on navigating the weird financial and job-scape of millennial life, simple ways to be happy & healthy and lots of anecdotes from our odd ball lives in remote and wild locations on the west coast of Ireland.
