The Champlain Consort, based in northern Vermont, performs Renaissance and Elizabethan music on period instruments.  The members of the Consort perform on recorders, sackbuts (Renaissance trombones), cornetto, viola da gamba, capped reeds, and percussion, combining different types of instruments in "broken consort" tradition to recreate the distinctive sound of English and European Renaissance music.
