Badu goes to Space is a track originally recorded back in 2020. I would describe it as minimal music with electronic/drum & bass influences. Sietse Huisman played the drums (quite brilliantly) on this one. I played and programmed all the other instruments: Piano x4, marimba x2, vibraphone x2, glockenspiel, crotales, shaker, synth bass, plucks and pads. This is a recent, more transparent and punchy mix. Badu goes to Space 2023

Kubrick's shining tesseract is a track I wrote on the 7th of July 2024. It's a piece about the atmosphere on the set of The Shining, combined with a rambling narrative about Stanley Kubrick's alleged involvement in the filming a fake moonlanding (which is obviously not true) and the intersection between 2001 A Space Odyssey and The Shining. Shelley Duvall is mentioned several times. The news that she died a few days after I made the piece moved me to upload the track to SoundCloud and use a picture of Shelley in the set of The Shining.

Drum Sacrifice at Nightfall

music for 3 piano's, two marimba's, two vibraphones, glockenspiel, crotales, shaker, synth and drumset. It's a meditative piece in 7/8, a tribute to the great music of Steve Reich and Pat Metheny. It features drummer Sietse Huisman, who did an amazing job bringing this abstract piece to life.

Radiant blue is a track with lots of influences; from liquid drum & bass to bossa nova to jazzrock to ambient electronica. It features vocals by Jasmin van Eeden and drums by Gregory Kranenburg. I played the rest of the instruments and I even did some backing vocals. All programming, sampling, processing, mixing and mastering were done by me. Enjoy

This track is a radical re-imagining of Jhene Aiko's song 'The Worst'. I took the acapella of that song and made completely new music around it. I was inspired by the Be On It version of The Worst after seeing footage of the Strange Arrange festival. I would love to collaborate with singers. I could rework their tracks in interesting ways or I could supply singers with instrumentals and invite them to invent new melodies and lyrics to my music. The possibilities are endless.

Yellow belly slacker is a track i wrote  about ten years ago. it was created completely in Reason. I'd say that it sounds like Jean Michel Jarre and Underworld making a song together.  It still sounds fresh after all these years. Enjoy.

Lauw

I composed this for a documentary about Dolphin Academy, Curaçao. Basically this track was me improvising on my Takamine guitar and multitracking on my now deceased Roland VS1680 recorder.

It took me a long time to gather the strength to wrestle this behemoth again. I was never happy with how it turned out. In my mind it should sound like Blur, Radiohead, The Beatles and Muse having a love baby, but it never delivered on that promise. Till today... 

This was composed and recorded when I was in a great band called Ginger. Steve Campbell was on vocals and acoustic guitar, Brian Tambling on electric guitar, Raynel Martis on drums and me on bass. Great times were had and a lot of great music was made.
