After an acclaimed set of Beethoven Piano Trios, Trio Sōra turns its attention to Brahms in a complete set of Piano Trios including Brahms' own version of his Horn Trio. Released on La Dolce Volta label on 26 April, it marks the final project using the Trio's 2020 Borletti-Buitoini Trust Fellowship, which also included the commissioning of a Triple Concerto from Canadian composer Kelly-Marie Murphy, premiered in 2022.

One of three commissions made possible by recorder player (and singer) Lucie Horsch's 2022 BBT Fellowship, Reza Namavar's Fetiapoipoi was premiered in May 2024, with Lucie and the Orchestra of the 18th Century. The three movements bear Tahitian titles, the first is titled ‘Pouri’, meaning darkness, the second movement ‘Fetiapoipoi’, the morning star rises, and the last movement ‘Poipoi’, the morning. So within the piece there is a development from darkness to light. And Lucie also sings in the middle movement, based explicitly on the text of Vivaldi’s aria ‘Sovente il sole’. More live performances are scheduled for December 2024.

Ten years on from his BBT Fellowship and four discs into his relationship with record company BIS, French horn player Alec Frank-Gemmill completes a long-held ambition to record Mozart's Horn Concertos. But his partnership with the Swedish Chamber Orchestra and conductor Nicholas McGegan (with whom he collaborated on an earlier disc of horn concertos 'Before Mozart') is different in that he not only plays a completed version of the First Horn Concerto (confusingly the last to be composed) and includes an earlier, unfinished, concerto, here entitled 'Concerto No 0' as reconstructed and completed by Stephen Robets and Frank-Gemmill himself. This eagerly awaited recording is out on 8 November 2024.

Cellist Zlatomir Fung's debut recording for Signum Classics revisits the popular 19th-century genre of operatic fantasies and brings it up-to-date with two 21st-century examples composed especially. Fung's own fantasy on Janáček's searing opera Jenůfa and Marshall Estrin's Fantasia Carmèn join rediscovered gems from the French repertoire (although both by Italian composers) - Donizetti's La Fille du Regiment (arranged by Adrien-François Servais) and Rossini's Guillaume Tell (arranged by François George-Hainl) - and both German and Russian repertoire - Wagner's Meistersinger (arranged by August Wilhelmj) and Tchaikovsky (arranged by Mikhail Bukinik). BBT is proud to support this recording, on which Fung is joined by pianist Richard Fu.
