&nbsp;More and more people are asking the obvious question why are we doing this silly thing. There were and perhaps still are some very good reasons for the advent of daylight savings time going back almost 100 years. And so since we've done it we keep doing it and from time to time the people who think it is advantageous to them but not necessarily to everybody find ways to keep it going because it works best for them. But everybody knows that for most people it's a proverbial pain and nothing is accomplished and we all know about the fact that there are a number of silly things and harmful and bad things that happen both on the very day and through the following week.&nbsp;&nbsp; But we do it anyhow because that's what we do.&nbsp; So I have a few thoughts simple as they are that might be helpful to you to recover from the sleep deprivation and a bit of the aggravation that's bound to occur in the days following daylight savings time because it messes with our sleep and living rhythms both us and for our pets.&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;I hope this might be helpful Stan &nbsp; &nbsp;

Well did you make it through silly savings time Sunday?   Some thoughts for taking care of our sleep deprivation as we move into a busy week

Well of course as I said on Sunday night we still are trying to catch up for the hour of sleep we lost and we continue to lose in some way this week.&nbsp; Listen to my Sunday night program from yesterday.&nbsp; And the economy of our nation and maybe the world are in big trouble because the leaders messed up again and again and now it's major banks are going under but we have been assured that we will not have to pay for bailing them out.&nbsp; Don't believe them because in some way we will pay the price and what do you think of those guys who ran the bank who sold off and bonuses out their friends before everything went South.&nbsp;&nbsp; Those are some of the people we're helping out. But on Sunday my friend Pastor Steve gave me a word of wisdom that just might be helpful to me and to you as we deal with the mess that starts on Mondays and it's going to be a part of our experience throughout 23.&nbsp;&nbsp; I hope it will be helpful! Well just like in the old movies of Laurel and Hardy, Oliver would say to Stanley, "and here's another fine mess you've gotten me into."&nbsp; Sounds familiar, it's everybody else's fault and of course they often blame Trump for just about everything. And the news rumors are flying that soon the District Attorney in New York City will indict Donald Trump for some possible financial misconduct in a payoff to a woman not to talk.&nbsp; And the main person testifying against Donald Trump is a former lawyer who used to work for him who has also been found guilty of a number of things and has been known to tell lies. So what will happen. Well we will find out but that got me to thinking about something that plagues us all in our world today and so join me in an amusing conversation about the Donald Trump deal and how it just might be a lesson in life ... For us all Stan &nbsp; &nbsp;

Are they going to indict Donald Trump?  And will that help make our lives better - or is it a lesson in stupidity 101

&nbsp;Well we are watching the news and maybe March 15 could be the day that we remember because the financial system may have started to go under and people are certainly fearful for what might be. We hope not and pray but remember that in some ways we all pay for somebody's mistakes. But if you're old like me you might be able to pass the trivia test about what famous event happened on 15 March, the ides of March.&nbsp;&nbsp; Well if you are a little bit curious maybe you'll listen to this 15 minute program and learn something you didn't know that.&nbsp; Well we will learn about 15 March, route 66, the history of the American automobile and why it's good to sometimes fill your head with useless knowledge. But because of all that you are one of the smarter people around and perhaps because of that being so smart you should be on the radio. So if you are smart you'll at least listen to the story and decide just how smart you might be and what you might do.

&nbsp;I have been involved in some way with Ukraine long before the current and terrible crisis in the Russian invasion.&nbsp; And let me tell you the story and then how I helped a young couple make their way from Ukraine to a new life in California. And they have done well with hard work and effort. And now because of their good fortune they have put together ways to help people in Ukraine, help some to get out of Ukraine, and now a way to help those who are here to start a new life.. And in their creativity they came up with the idea of what my friend Nadia called The 7 foot club.&nbsp; No it's not a big stick to beat people with but truly a coming together of people in a internet friendship club and it takes the name from an old sailor saying about 7 feet, and hence the name the 7 foot club. It's a great idea and I wanna share it with you so here it goes on this turbulent Thursday. Stan

&nbsp;Today I'm back on track after being bushwhacked in a standing line for over four hours yesterday. Thank God for the weekend. He designed it. He wants you to enjoy it. And so I'm gonna tell you a few reasons why and how you can. I'm going to read a book about Paul Newman there is his memoir written after his death which he didn't write...&nbsp; Partly because I want to remind you that you can learn from almost anybody or anything and the people who can do that tend to be more at peace with the world and more successful in their life. And so I have my usual radio ramblings but I have been thinking believe that if you just let them come on and think about them eventually they may even make more sense than they seem and more useful to you then you first thought.&nbsp;&nbsp; I think these Paul Newman thoughts and weekend recommendations might be helpful to you. I'm going to read a book written by Paul Newman which he didn't write... Because there's a lot that you and I can learn from doing just that. Some some grace-full weekend thoughts from Stan

&nbsp;I think most of us take ourselves too seriously. And there's a difference between taking your work seriously and taking yourself too seriously. That is particularly true in the work that I do. From time to time years ago a frightened young intern would come to me and confessed they had messed something up for a radio program and they were here to ask for forgiveness. Usually that was no problem though I made it a point to try and ask them to think and do some remedial work to try and avoid that from happening again. I would then share with a smile&nbsp; ... That they were not the first person to make that mistake in the industry and they won't be the last. And then sometimes I would add, and remember it's only a radio program. I felt I had worked hard and put in a good solid 15 minutes of news, some views, a touch of entertainment and some wisdom insight and truth that might be helpful about making an impact in the world.&nbsp;&nbsp; But I also know that in this business like in almost every business, timing is vital and just as I was posting the program we got news of the terrible shooting in Nashville. And obviously that was and should dominate the news and hopefully no views of why it happened or how it happened, at least for a while.&nbsp;&nbsp; You see&nbsp; in the midst of that I am not going to increase the amount of perhaps useless noise by putting my radio program right smack dab in the middle of the conversation.&nbsp; And so I did not,but now I'd like to talk about how important it might be to learn how to makean impact for good in this obviously broken and very sad world, Stan &nbsp;
