Traffic Jam

I loved what was already there and didn't want to significantly change the flavor.  But no Bassist, and free reign to Produce?  Since I'm primarily a Bassist, yeah it will be a bit different... But also keeping everything that already exists intact.  So I added a Bass line, some tambourine, and just a touch of additional drums.  I have no idea how they got the floor tom to sound so massive, but I pulled a few tricks out of my magic hat and came pretty close.  Wonderful song to work on!  It was an absolute joy.  Many thanks to all the good folks at Lewitt, and many thanks to AVEC for providing their tracks for this challenge.  I hope you like my version.

#saintagnesremix - The only samples used were culled from the stems.  I wanted to preserve the attitude and vibe of the song.  So I only did a re-mix for the intro.  Once you've hit the 30 second point, the rest is all pure Saint Agnes (Hopefully mixed aggressively enough).

My Remix of "Dirty" by Marina & The Kats.  I loved the song "as was", so I didn't add any additional instruments or remove any of the tracks.  However, this song just screamed to be "a 78rpm record, recorded live in a very busy, very rowdy Gin Joint".  So my ancient Grungelizer VST plugin to the rescue...  To give it that crackle, noise, hum, distortion and vintage Victrola EQ!  Amazingly you can still find that VST! (At opendll.com) But don't worry, after the intro it opens up to a modern sounding stereo mix.  I love this style, loved this song and I had a real blast remixing it.   I hope you like it! Second iteration of my mix.  As indicated on the post of the first version, I wasn't happy with that mix.  So i managed to find the time to do some tweaks.  Still not great, but a bit more listenable.

My Re-mix of Beardyman's Stems for the 30 Second Soundtrack competition.  I used bits and pieces of ALL the Stems and a few bits of some of the Stems reversed.  No other samples added.  Just some Audiose Sworl (To give busy movement and create a howling wind effect)and some deep Reverb (level automated).  Making something only 30 seconds long can be surprisingly tricky!

Adam Audio Halloween Soundtrack Competition - CGarthwaite ReMix 174bpm

My Re-mix of "If This Is The End" for SKIO's SILO RCRDS "If This Is The End" Re-mix contest.  The objective was to take the stems and create a Soundtrack suitable Track with a length between 2:30 and 3:00, with three different sections, each of which increase in size and scope. Also all of the sections needed to work together as one cohesive piece.

I opted to enhance the Latin feel of this song by adding some Timbales (from a Reggae Kit), Congas and Bongos.  I felt that the Strings and Piano at the intro were a bit strong and also a bit "naked", so I added some Bass Viol, Cello and Viola, and wrapped them all in a "wet room".  Toward the end I added some Lead Guitars in a feeble attempt to emulate one of my favorite Guitarists, Carlos Santana.  It took me three tracks to almost do what "The Master" does on just one, but I felt they added a nice touch of power in just the right spot.  Best of luck to all the participants!  I'm hearing some great stuff here!
