Yemanjá, also known as Iemanjá, Yayá, Iara or Janaína in Brazilian culture, is a powerful and revered ocean goddess in the Afro-Brazilian religious traditions. The Goddess is celebrated in Brazil and on several occasions, with the most significant being on February 2nd and encompasses the essence of motherhood, fertility, and the sea.

She is not only an integral part of religious ceremonies, but also a figure celebrated in Brazilian popular culture, including music, dance, art, and festivals.

Her image and stories have become symbols of Brazilian identity, blending African roots with South American culture.
