DJ HURT is the B-side of drag artist Amber Hurt, etched with needle scratches, dancing all night to melodies filled with a sense of the feminine. Sweat and embraces blur bodies and vision. They are currently based in London but grew up in Shanghai’s legend ELEVATOR, where countless hazy, ambiguous desires were left behind in that humid basement dancefloor, their dance steps tracing the eccentricities unique to this era. DJ HURT is drawn to timeless House and Disco, bittersweet classic Electro rhythms, modern yet nostalgic synths, and those decadent sounds washed over by countless waves. They playfully, even inappropriately, weaves, arranges, and mixes these sounds, giving them a rough texture reminiscent of vintage erotic films — DJ HURT aims to create an entrancing trap for listeners, inviting them to willingly fall in, only to have their souls teased out by melodies brimming with joy and ecstasy.

As a queer kid utterly spoiled by the infamous queer collective Medusa Realness, they follows this motherbeat travelling around China, feeling the passionate connections of love and desire in all directions. They're been fortunate to spin for their community friends in clubs across mainland China, including LOOPY (Hangzhou), .TAG (Chengdu), OIL (Shenzhen), ZHAODAI (Beijing), and HEIM (Shanghai), establishing themselves as a reliable emerging force in the scene. Like a flame born of desire, walking through rainbow dust — DJ HURT hopes to bring you a timeless sense of sincerity, hope, and freedom through their music.
