Not only is she running the FURDA event series – she's also associated with Unsound Festival and holds down a regular show on LYL and Noods Radio. In the 46-minute journey she delivers, hermeneia takes you into the head-wobbly realms of soundsystem music – this one will be on repeat for a while.

Blush aims to help soothe the queer spectrum and focus on the well-being of the community. Queer DJs are invited to submit a mix to showcase an alternative side to their music library outside of a rave and take us on a meditative journey. ✨

Notes on the mix:

"This mix has been informed by a few things relating to queerness, in the club and away from the club. Feeling like I've been experiencing the same kind of self actualisation as I felt as a teen; existing between the physical, public dancefloor and a fuzzy, hazy, internal world - coming to truths through chaos and/or chemicals. I wanted to respond to a short film I saw in October - Jamie Crewe's false wife 'a poppers training manual'. Thinking about the shedding of skin and brushing against other bodies as a way to better understand your own and how time can stretch out in unexpected ways. This mix is full of wide tempo, long blends, echo and has an overall cloudiness that I hope mirrors the headache, nausea + dizziness of liquid gold."

Xivro is a radio maker and sometimes DJ based across Scotland’s central belt. They run a party called Club Sylkie @clubsylkie, which focuses on making spaces for the girls, gays and theys within leftfield and bass forward club music.

Framework presents the first edition of TOWER Imports, a limited mix series designed to incorporate international artists into New York's TOWER project. 

The inaugural mix comes from experimental Italian musician, DJ, & producer @ikavapii. Exploring abstract and detailed club-adjacent music with releases on @earlyreflex and @pampsychia, the London-based artist driven by a playful approach to sound design and unconventional structures. With this mix, they initiate explorations of waterlogged sonics in preparation for the next edition of TOWER, February 29 at Bossa Nova Civic Club in Brooklyn.

You only need to have a quick nose around phil in a maze’s impressive raft of self-released singles to understand the depth of his production skills. Alternately harnessing the raw power of tech-inflected dnb and the impressionistic sophistication of dub, his set at the Unsound Closing Party at 89 was a game of tempo division and multiplication, featuring stuttering drum patterns and sludgy dancehall.

As the brains behind a label constantly upending expectations and convention, the Lyon native has achieved cult status among discerning music heads. If you haven’t checked the POLAAR output, not to mention Flore’s own productions, you only have yourself to blame. It’s curation without compromise, defined by a voracious appetite for innovation.

Flexing a commitment to reckless abandon and clubwise experimentation, the mix treads a similar path. Bassbin accelerators and hardcore torque in abundance.

In a few days we are starting the celebration of the 10th anniversary of my POLAAR label with a party at the Machine du Moulin Rouge in Paris (one of the biggest we have ever organised).

It proved the perfect occasion to delve back into the archives and it was surprisingly pleasant to see how far we have come. It’s also an opportunity to think about the new creative directions we want to take in the years to come. No genre is out of bounds within the boundless imagination of this Moroccan-born artist, who can bridge Coil and Evil Pimp into a sludge riddim for the ages. Now based in Brussels, ojoo’s diverse love for sound is apparent in every mix and live set she conjures up. Swirling reggaeton and dembow, atmospheric illbient and industrial beats, grubby grime and even religious folk music may make an appearance, each track a well-considered placement in her sonic witch’s brew. Though varied in style and genre, her skillful touch ensures the groove remains a constant, turning disparate parts into a dancified freak-out with just the right gonzo flow to make you go »Whoa.«
