Spellbound in Naarm.

Theory Therapy #41 is a spellbinding quiltwork of delicate folk musings and surreal soundscaping by Naarm-based producer Mitchell Reynolds aka Bluetung. 

Sonically, there’s a lot of similarities between this mix and the music Mitch has released, especially last year’s spectral Room Tone Paintings on Altered States Tapes and the kosmische-inspired Music for Our Dying Earth on jpeg. Artefacts. (If you haven’t checked these albums out already, I highly recommend you take the time to do so.) 

Like those releases, there’s an equally unadorned and intricate quality to this recording. As Mitch modestly puts it, “there are a lot of different vibes in here, my mixes are big collages or audio scrapbooks, very unceremonious”.

Sonic storytelling from Glasgow's ambient power duo Somewhere Press. The mix is, according to Caapi and Lizzie Urquhart, a musing on the Divine Feminine, which got me thinking about something James Hillman, archon of all things archetypal, said about the study of Beauty. Apparently (so says James) the ancient root of the word "Aesthetics" comes close to meaning "I breathe in" and the mixes, releases and vibe of Somewhere Press has certainly breathed something beautiful into Glasgow's musical landscape. We hope you enjoy this latest Forecast addition and urge you to keep an eye out for the upcoming "The Blue Hour" compilation coming out soon via Boomkat. "all light hits u" is a recording of original material and edits written over the past three years by two friends from Chicago, Ben (kindtree) and Tommy (_”/._.\”_).  They also comprise 2/3 of the group Purelink alongside millia rage. This excerpt into the sounds they've been making together (and individually) is full of intimate detail and movement, and reveals a clear chemistry between the two. Each listen reveals something new and the mood is a total pleasure to undergo.
