Los Angeles-based DJ and producer, 88, is back with a new monthly residency on Dublab called Club Paradise. Airing every 2nd Friday night of the month, from 10pm-midnight, Club Paradise centers Baltimore,Jersey and Philly Club Music and its relationship with Hip Hop, Ballroom, House and Techno, while tying in Caribbean, Latin & African based Dancehall, Dembow and GQOM which influenced him after traveling abroad. Look forward to energetic, genre blending DJ sets, exclusive music and special guest sets. Club Paradise aims to highlight and blend urban music in all high energy electronic form.

Sí, aquí tienen 55 minutos de Timba, Latín jazz, merengue, salsa y fusiones contemporáneas cortesía de Lechuga Zafiro.

"Hacía tiempo quería hacer una mezcla que funcione como nota personal y que rinda homenaje a la fundamental influencia que los ritmos del caribe - en especial cuba y puerto rico - han tenido no sólo en nuestro continente, desde alaska a tierra del fuego, sino que en todo el mundo. Como saben, el adn socio-cultural de las poblaciones sudacas y de esta música en especial está conformado por genes indígenas, afro y europeos, pero lo que más me conmueve personalmente es la maestría con la que la herencia afro domina el ritmo y aporta su habilidad. Volcado especialmente a la timba, salsa y otros ritmos de origen afro-cubanos que han mutado en Colombia, Puerto Rico, República Dominicana, etc. y en un orden dudosamente cronológico pero que abarca las diversas expresiones que estos géneros híbridos han adquirido en el tiempo -tradicionales y mínimas, agresivas y top 40, románticas y barrocas-, esta mezcla significa la punta del iceberg de lo que tienen para ofrecer, pero mi intención es que funcione como una llave para despertar curiosidad sobre la salsa, sus orígenes y afluencias para el que nunca se acercó a ella, y que se goce con su diversidad y riqueza rítmica". @lechugazafiro
