About you:  MI$$ JUNIA is a DJ from Berlin who entered the electronic music scene behind the decks as well as as a club worker around 2022. They have begun to take a strong interest in attempting to understand, explore and bring-to-the-dance- floor a mixture of Detroit-influenced techno and house productions. In light of Black History Month, they want to encourage everybody to continuously learn about the rhythmic complexities, the cultural richness and history of electronic dance music as well as the Black pioneers, artists and technicians who paved the way for all of us. 

A track/record of your choice that means a lot to you and, if you feel like sharing, why: 
"I’d have to say that „Life Is Back“ by Ash Lauryn is one of my favorite tracks right now. Every time I listen to it, I am reminded of springtime, summery playfulness and spontaneity. It’s good to keep all of this in mind to get through winter in Berlin."

Introducing one of our own, Ali Wagner @ali_wagner, for our second guest mix. Ali is apart of the Local Strangers collective. This mix echoes dubby, electro, trancey, spooky, sounds to make you go wonky at the knees.

She learnt to dj in the first lockdown but has never let it go further than friend’s house parties or beyond her bedroom walls. Her feelings of imposter syndrome have often stopped her from taking it any further.  She’s decided that this is the year of letting go and sharing her music.

Originally from Australia and now based in London; her music influence comes from experiences of dancing in the bush, intertwined with her experiences of going out in London, Berlin, Birmingham and Brussels. “one’s personal music collection is like their biography. you could go through, and listen to it and realise a lot about a person and explore different moments in their life: i think this is so beautiful.” Ali says her collection of music shares a lot about her chase for nostalgic dancefloor moments. her favourite feelings of music, ones she’s makes up and groups some of her music by, includes ‘sun on your face,’ ‘dancefloor kiss’ and ‘wonky knees.’

The last track, titled ‘Schizophrenia,’ is one of her all-time favourite possessions. It's the kind of possession she'd save in a burning building.  “I can imagine watching the most beautiful sunrise to this song.” When she first heard this track it gave her full body goosebumps. We hope some of you can feel the same way when you hear it.

Eric Umble is a Brooklyn-based DJ, clarinetist, and event producer passionate about cultivating a thriving local dance music community. As founder, lead producer, and resident of FACETIME, alongside Detroit-based artist Rebecca Goldberg, Eric is a regular presence in the New York scene and beyond sharing their driving, hypnotic, uplifting, melodic, and groovy sound at parties above and below ground.

In his own words: " Riding the energy from @eoindjs's sunrise set through DHC’s mid-morning fun, I felt I had no choice but to start sexy, spicy, and suave. The true beauty of a long set allowed me to expand into all kinds of musical eras of my life, just as I was about to turn 30. From 2015 Ibiza minimal anthems to Brazilian Funk with some fresh unreleased goods in between. The final climax came with an air guitar rockout session to Vengaboys remix of The Cardigans that I'll never forget.   

I really got to enjoy the magic of the Lighthouse and filled me with so much pride for what we’ve created together. Thank you to all the openminded dancers and to our incredible team, who allowed me to fully immerse myself while they ran the show. Forever grateful! " - Mark
