This recording picks up right where the OFF99 cats left off, beginning around 10:30am and wrapping up sometime past 4pm... Endless love to all the party people who kept it rolling into the afternoon. It's come to that time of the year again, well a bit later, but you know what they say... Time to unleash the beast once more yet a different one it is. Still following the same thread: moving forwards whilst looking backwards, continuing the explorations and the excavations to and from Knowhere. Unexpected blends and mash-ups which will hopefully give birth to new ideas for some, inspirations for others. Well, they have for us as we can now turn this page and move on... As you might've guessed by now, this message can be seen as an announcement: a new episode, airing soon on Good Morning Tapes. ‘For home use only’ is an anti-club social, a chance to get to know someone/something. A series of transmissions purely dedicated to exploring the other side.

As our trajectory accelerates head-first into another year, it’s more important than ever to slow down and catch your breath. As automatic as that may seem, I’m talking more about the metaphorical meaning of breath aka a self-imposed moment of peace and quiet. To comprehend such a thing nowadays it’s crucial to have a soundtrack, and this episode of FHUO from the Daisy Records crew is the perfect accompaniment to refill the oxygen tanks. Frankifettucini & Obelix have created something truly special in this two-hour time frame, a magical trip through the sky, hopping from cloud to cloud, chasing a never-ending sunset. 

This mix is a true masterclass in immersion, which is what you would expect from two music nuts who run an incredible record store, as well as releases under the Daisy Records sub-label and curated events that really showcase what Naarm has to offer. Gin & Tonic is an improvised electronic music duo, comprised of Eli Verveine and Gwenan, renowned for their captivating DJ sets that ignite dancefloors across the globe. Their journey began with a spontaneous decision to intertwine their musical machines for a hybrid live/DJ set at an anti-war gathering in MaHalla, Berlin, during the spring of 2022. What started as a fleeting moment soon blossomed into an impassioned collaboration, where the rhythmic pulse of their creations took precedence over conventional DJ equipment.

This recording encapsulates the essence of their synergy, featuring a compilation of six studio and live improvisations. Some tracks are freshly minted, while others were crafted during the waning moments of the previous year. The collection culminates with a tantalizing excerpt from their mesmerizing performance at the Waking Life Festival in June 2023, a testament to their evolution as artists and the boundless energy they bring to every stage they grace.

Next up at Edwin Music channel is Berlin-based producer and DJ @benediktfrey and his close friend @menqui with whom he co-runs the label R.i.O.

For EDWIN MUSIC CHANNEL, he joined forces with his friend Menqui, who is overseeing the administration for the R.i.O. label, is part of the Berlin-based Muting The Noise Record Store and Distribution crew, runs a radio show for Cashmere Radio and plays regular in all those small, but delicate Berlin bars and little dancefloor venues. Together they prepared an epic mix, created live and direct in Menqui’s living room, featuring all sorts of music from pop, Trip-Hop, and Hip-hop to free-tripping electronic grooves. Conjuring memories of daydreaming in the midsts of suburbia. A new mix from @priori-ties

Some words from Priori: “I grew up in a working class neighbourhood of Longueuil, Quebec, Canada. Being an only child in the suburbs meant I spent a lot of time daydreaming and contemplating my environment. I was a bit of a melancholic kid so post-punk and ambient music made a lot of sense to me when I discovered them. I stumbled upon an album called Strike by 154 by accident, probably wanting to download something else off of Kazaa. It really changed things for me as a teenager and I still hold it dear. There's a song from it in the mix, along with a bunch of other things that bring up similar feelings for me.”

“As for news:
Alex (Dust-e-1) and I are putting out a new record as ANF on NAFF, should be out April 26th.
Some more collabs and solo things coming out in the summer.”

music for... growing up in the suburbs - Priori

It is undeniable that we are living in uncertain times. For those of us failing - or refusing - to fit the patriarchal, neoliberalist mould we have lost hope in the future. We can see capitalism is not working but we cannot yet envisage an alternative. We discover that the stability we were instructed to obtain whether it be financial, political or ecological, is fleeting, if at all. The resulting anxiety is an instrument of neoliberalism that prevents many of us from being able to raise consciousness of the structural injustices that alienate us.

In a world where security is no longer feasible, the only constant we can rely on is change. Barad teaches us that the world is a dynamic process of intra-activity and materialisation, an ongoing ebb and flow of agency. The Buddhist Law of Impermanence proves that nothing in this world is eternal. Regardless of ones point of reference we can understand that every aspect of life, physical and mental is in flux and perhaps this transience is the only thing we can depend on.

Each month we invite an artist to ruminate on these ideas and create an hour of relief from these anxieties. A temporary suspension of reality, where the listener can speculate on alternate modes of existence that reject hetero- patriarchal systems of oppression.

This month we have invited @syberkid to respond to this concept.
