Stuck between the Houston growing influence, West Coast G-funk overwhelming imprint, Memphis managed to erect its own identity made of pimp narrative, dynamic flows switches and sometimes organic sometimes dark synths, devilish harmonies.
This mix tried to state the burgeoning Memphis rap throughout the 1990s and a few tracks from its current legacy.
