Given hip hop's position as pop culture's new musical lingua franca in the 21st Century, it's not a stretch to suggest Gil Scott-Heron is one of the most influential recording artists of the past 100 years, given his role as the progenitor of the genre. The Chicago-born poet electrified R&B, disco, jazz & later electronic productions with no-nonsense street reportage, and critiques on the ills of a broken America. He inspired a legion of artists with his militant faith in his own beliefs.
This 2 hour compilation brings together the breadth of Heron’s work, combining soul, blues and jazz, with comedy, spoken word and a piercing insight into race relations in 20th century America.

This show has been compiled by Robbie Warin and is dedicated to Henry Miller, who first introduced him to Scott-Heron’s music.

2013年よりNYCに拠点を移し活動。今のブルックリンのダンス・ミュージックシーンに多大な影響を与えているBossa Nova Civic Clubでパーティをスタート。2016年に一度帰国後は、今はなき西麻布SuperDeluxeに勤めながら、NYを中心とした繋がりを元にAurora Halal, DJ Python, Galcher Lustwerk, Beta Librae, Relaxer, Huerco S., PLO Man, Hashman Deejay, Kush Jones, Ulla, Malibu, DJ Fart in the Club, Anz, Akanbiなどのアーティストを今にかけて召喚している。2018年に再度NYCに戻り、NYCのNowadays, Public Records, Sustain Release, Groovy Groovy, Club Night Club、ヨーロッパのSuper, Post Bar, Outra Cena etc. といったベニューやパーティに出演を続ける。Aurora Halalが主催するNYのレイヴSustain Releaseにも4度の出演を果たし、2020年からS-R Tokyoシリーズを企画。
2021年には<Will Records>を立ち上げ、食中毒センター（Hair Stylistics x Foodman）、荒井優作の作品をリリース。
2022年からは‘PACIFIC MODE’としてNYCと東京を中心にパーティを開催している。2023年には初の野外レイヴを川崎の東扇島で開催し、渋谷のWWWを中心にパーティを続ける。

DJ Healthy is a Yokohama-bred, Brooklyn-based DJ and curator who works to connect the underground scenes of Japan and NYC under ‘PACIFIC MODE’, an event series. Effortlessly moving between house, bass and techno while also channeling experimental sounds, DJ Healthy delivers memorable sets that reflect his keen ear for curation. He has played at major NYC venues/parties as Bossa Nova Civic Club, Nowadays, Public Records, Good Room, Paragon, Sustain Release, Groovy Groovy, Club Night Club and in Europe like Super, Post Bar, Outra Cena etc. And has been working for Sustain Release Tokyo series with Aurora Halal since 2020.  In 2021, he launched his record label Will Records. And started event series as ‘PACIFIC MODE’ in 2022 mainly in NYC & Tokyo, in 2023 organized outside rave ‘PACIFIC MODE’ in Kawasaki.

In mid-September in 2025, a new facility opened in Tokyo, and I was commissioned to create the background music for several common areas on one of its floors. It was the largest music production project I’ve taken on so far. One of the spaces is equipped with an immersive audio system, where multi-track sound files were installed to work with a custom acoustic design and a multi-channel speaker setup.
I dedicated roughly the first half of 2025 to this project. Although the process had its challenges, it became an invaluable experience—offering me a rare opportunity to reconsider, in my own way, how environmental and ambient music can function in contemporary and public spaces. This mix is built around tracks I referenced during the production period, along with other pieces I explored in the process.

先日9月中旬にオープンした都内某施設の一部フロアの共用部分数カ所で流れるBGMを制作した。音楽制作の仕事でここまで大型のものを受けたのは初めてで、さらにそのうちの1カ所はいわゆるイマーシブ・オーディオのシステムが入っており、独自の音響設計に従って配置されたマルチ・チャンネル・スピーカーに対応するようマルチ・トラックの音源がインストールされている。
2025年、今年前半の約半年をこの制作に捧げたわけだが、困難な行程も得難い体験となり、また環境音楽やアンビエント・ミュージックについて現代的・公共空間的に（自分なりに）再考する又と無い機会となった。今回のミックスはこの制作期間に参照した楽曲と、それに伴い掘っていた曲達を軸に構成した。

Kaoru Inoue is a DJ and musician. After gaining experience as a guitarist in a band, he immersed himself in DJ culture following the rise of Acid Jazz in 1989. In 1994, he released his first track under the name Chari Chari. Since then, he has released and remixed music under his own name and various aliases on labels both in Japan and abroad.

As a DJ, he has performed at venues ranging from small clubs to large outdoor rave parties and beyond. In recent years, his DJ style—seamlessly connecting diverse sounds such as dance music, jazz, ambient, Balearic, and experimental—has earned widespread acclaim for its unique sense of aesthetics.


井上薫・DJ／音楽家。ギタリストとしてのバンド経験を経て89年Acid Jazzの洗礼と共にDJカルチャーに没入。94年にChari Chari名義で初の楽曲をリリース。以降、本名やその他様々な名義での楽曲リリース、リミックスを国内外のレーベルで手がけ、大小問わずクラブ、屋外レイヴ・パーティー、またその他様々な場でDJとして活動を続けてきた。近年はダンス・ミュージックに限らずジャズ、アンビエント、バレアリック、エクスペリメンタルなど様々な音楽を独自の審美眼で繋いでいくDJスタイルが好評を博している。

Sunday Morning Mix On Purrrise at Loopy Purr  21st September 2025

On July 27th we returned to Nowadays in New York for our second twenty four/seven party. We saw DJ Sprinkles (inside) and Actress (in the garden) playing at sunrise. Aurora Halal tore up the main room. Mister Sunday closed in their own back yard. As we gear up for twenty four/seven London, we’ve revisited some of our favourite memories from the New York edition.
