Louis and Guillaume are the mischievous minds behind The Pilotwings. Formerly both Lyon-based (Louis has now upped sticks and moved to Athens), the duo's melange of synth-pop, Balearic and soft trance has formed the basis of releases for BFDM, their longstanding label affiliate and home of their first release, as well as spells at Macadam Mambo and Animals Dancing.

As they've grown, so too has their sound. It's still fresh and psychedelic as ever, but there's more focus on the use of instruments and a wider palatte of influences, plus they've brought a third member into the fold for their latest release, their second LP on BFDM - Les Charismatiques.

Their own solo projects are just as worth your attention too: under Eiger Drums Propaganda Louis makes tripped out ambient weirdo trance while Guillaume's output as Jonquera is a dub-wise downtempo affair. 

Following the release last year, we roped them in to doing a mix for us, a request they gladly accepted. Their 'Back to the rave machine' mix is a wild ride through trance, acid, psychedelia and house. Get stuck in.

"We Are Waiting for Dawn" is the debut single from the upcoming ambient album by Grainspace.

Drawing from over two decades of experience in electronic music production, this track is a journey through the serene landscapes of Chillout and Atmospheric Ambient. Created using a blend of classic synthesis and modern digital precision, the piece captures that fleeting, quiet moment just before the world wakes up.

Produced and mixed in Cubase, and polished with iZotope Ozone, this release marks a deep dive into soulful, textured sounds, inspired by early morning stillness and a touch of steampunk aesthetics.
