Navigare Audio is keeping busy this summer and after the marvellous release of Kalumet's EP last Friday we thought another podcast episode would be proper to kick off this weekend with. Within this scene there is so much work that is being done under the surface where music suddenly appears for us as djs, listeners, consumers. Therefor we're very appreciative to have this guy as our next navigator for the podcast. SKIN Podcast Series #015 Clarence Rise 

Starting this year music exploration with a podcast by mastermind Clarence Rise, exploring subgenres of hypnotic techno and deep DnB. @clarencerise: 'For this particular podcast, I've chosen to take as many tracks as possible that are both hypnotic and very percussive, while using a fast, suffocating rhythmic progression. Like a wild hunt in the woods, it's up to the listener to decide whether to be the hunter or the hunted.' 

Over the years, French producer Clarence Rise has developed a strong, intense, and singular musical identity, where incisive techno blends with chilling atmospheres. Some describe his work as Cinematic or Cold Techno, emphasizing complex rhythms, dark sound design, and contemplative melancholy.

Cafe de la Jungle skillfully merges the rhythmic echoes of traditional tribal sounds with the cutting-edge beats of contemporary electronic music, crafting a unique blend of styles. Immersed in the captivating world of synthesizer melodies and the evocative soundscapes of 90s video game music during his formative years, he draws inspiration from these influences, resulting in a captivating fusion of nostalgic and futuristic elements. Growing up amidst those rapid strides of technological advancement in the countryside, he developed a profound connection to both the digital realm and the natural environment. 

Rhythm, colour, and movement play a constant role in his musical journey. Known for his musical adaptability, he effortlessly delves into experimental domains, merging acoustic, analogue, and digital realms. By digging into many genres, he draws inspiration from a wide range of musical traditions, contributing to the unique and multifaceted nature of his musical output. 

His ability to seamlessly fuse elements of hypnotic techno, leftfield, uk bass and ambient music showcases an artist who navigates uncharted sonic territories, yielding a unique sound marked by rhythms inspired by ancient traditions, exotic instrumentation, and vibrant textures. This innovative work, released under his imprint Dans le Desert, has received acclaim from respected media outlets such as Orb Mag and Juno, leading his music to find a home on Polygonia's label, QEONE. 

In addition to his solo endeavours, Tomasz finds joy in collaborative projects, particularly in working with fellow artists. One notable collaboration led to the release of a project called "Aromatherapy" under Moonlight Resort Spa which was recorded in partnership with Michał Wolski. This collaborative venture showcases his ability to synergise with other artists, creating unique and compelling musical experiences.

we are more than happy to introduce Elsa from Basel to our next SYLPCAST. She is part of the @schanzeacht label crew and regularly releasing productions which are often shaped by atmospheric soundscapes, dubby vibes, and moving basslines. In  March she played at one of our partys at ArTik and it was impressive. Her selection and taste in music is just great!

I have not been able to recover access to my other account [https://soundcloud.com/ha-kekong] for a couple of years.  I have tried a few times to get back into it but SoundCloud doesn't trust me.  Same phone number, same email addresses, and they still claim that they can't verify my identity.  I created that account about three years ago as a substitute to my regular account which SoundCloud temporarily closed.  They closed it as part of some upgrade procedure in their system, the result of a bug that affected many accounts, about two years ago.  Since SC did not inform its users I didn't know if that was permanent or not, so I created that other account which I can't access.  Don't be mad if I have not replied to your message in the past two years, that's because I never got them ; ) ... You can always reach me here though.

You can't see it because of the angle with which I took the shot, aiming down, but beyond those blocks is the sea.  To the left is the Mediterranean, to the right is the Atlantic Ocean.  No it's not Gibraltar, but a little bit further West. ... Actually I checked recently and it is further North more than West, I thought I was facing South when in fact I probably was facing the Atlantic ocean, which is why I suppose the waves were of a decent size where we were.
