For our 15th edition of our RainureCast series, we welcome Light of Cacti.
A very different approach to our series that you might not be used to, but our ethos has always been: electronic grooves. This fits the bill on a much more chilled out / unwinding from a heavy night out tip. A superb intricate blend of dub & dub techno courtesy of Kai, a Brighton local who runs the esteemed record label: Tonight's Dream records, focusing on Ambient, downtempo & electronica, do check it out if you like this tip!

A real pleasure this one, roll one up, grab a glass of wine, maybe something that ends in "rooms"? either way, looking to chill out and experience something dreamy? Light of Cacti has provided it.

RainureCast 015 - Light of Cacti

We’re in the hands of Tonight’s Dream Records honcho Light of Cacti for Chrysalism 008. Despite initial designs to plan out this mix to represent the journey of the storm, Light of Cacti was spontaneously inspired by a rainy day - resulting in an authenticity that resonates throughout his selection, and profoundly embodies this series. 

From the first crackle of vinyl we’re taken into a brooding and melancholic soundscape, journeying from deep and dreamy ambient, into worldbuilding textures and drum patterns.

Chrysalism 008 // Light of Cacti

Next up it’s time to take a trip with Tonight’s Dream own Kai Gittos. 

The mix has been curated for the parts of the afters we are probably feeling nostalgic for. Starting off with some ambient techno/idm and downtempo for those moments where nonsense is wearing off and the conversations wearing thin. Before drifting into some peaceful ambient for when the sun is creeping through the curtains and you know it’s time to call it a night.
