This month, we are thrilled to feature a mix from The Visions Reel. The artist behind the project, Adam Jade, is a music producer based in the South West of England whose works delve into cinematic, emotionally-driven electronic music, with an increasing emphasis on intricate melodies and carefully crafted sound design.

With releases on labels such as Kizen, Re:st, and others, Adam also co-runs Captured Visions, a cassette label alongside Tom Barefoot, which focuses on ambient music that highlights atmosphere and texture.

This mix is a 2-hour recording from a party in London last year, hosted by Unknown Species—one of Adam's favourite events in the UK and a very special night.

This month, we are delighted to welcome Vinsen, based in The Hague, to our series. Slowly and steadily, he’s been crafting a musical realm that drifts between heartwarming melodies, textured soundscapes, and subtle grooves. His mixes and DJ sets reflect a deep passion for storytelling, drawing inspiration from fantasy worlds, sci-fi books, and the everyday beauty of life in his city.

This particular mix was recorded mostly at the enchanting Above Below festival in the UK, surrounded by rolling hills, a gentle brook, blooming trees, and birdsong—a setting that felt straight out of a fairytale. Inspired by the magic of the landscape, Vinsen brought that dreamy atmosphere to The Coombe, the festival’s special ambient stage. The final version has been subtly adapted for a more intimate and conscious listening experience at home.

With spring's early mornings and sunnier days, we're excited to introduce the next chapter of our Deep Breakfast Series, featuring Amsterdam-based artist Paduan.

Patric Kimman, aka Paduan, is a DJ and curator passionate about introspective electronic music. His sets blend drone textures, subtle melodies, concrète sounds, and natural elements, showcased on his Balamii radio show and the "Into the Universe" event series with Will Oirson and Vincent Rang.

In this episode, he takes us on a journey through immersive soundscapes that evoke tranquility and encourage self-reflection, seamlessly blending ambient and experimental textures. Paduan’s work fosters community and dialogue around contemplative electronic music, pushing creative boundaries and inspiring emotional exploration through sound.

We’re in the hands of Tonight’s Dream Records honcho Light of Cacti for Chrysalism 008. Despite initial designs to plan out this mix to represent the journey of the storm, Light of Cacti was spontaneously inspired by a rainy day - resulting in an authenticity that resonates throughout his selection, and profoundly embodies this series. 

From the first crackle of vinyl we’re taken into a brooding and melancholic soundscape, journeying from deep and dreamy ambient, into worldbuilding textures and drum patterns.
