Finding Purpose After A Tragic Accident

With more time on our hands, many of us have taken up beekeeping as a pandemic hobby. But as Michelle Wolfson, Chair of the Urban Toronto Beekeepers Association, tells me: it is no easy walk in the park. She explained what is involved in maintaining a colony of bees and why these creatures are so important to the overall ecosystem.

Shane Lee Lindstrom, AKA Murda Beatz, is a 24-year-old from Fort Erie, ON. 

He also happens to be one of the most sought after music producers within the music industry today. He makes records for the likes of Drake, The Migos, Cardi B, Nicki Minaj, Travis Scott, French Montana and more. 

In the following audio presentation, Murda Beatz takes us behind the music and shares compelling stories of making some of his biggest hit records specifically for Drake and The Migos.

These artists have had a significant impact on Murda Beatz' career. In 2018, Murda Beatz produced Nice For What for Drake, which he says is the biggest record of his career to date. The Migos have also had a tremendous impact on his career as they were one of the first major hip hop acts to regularly collaborate with him and utilize his beats. 

Beyond sharing the stories behind some of his records, Murda Beatz reflects on fond memories of connecting with these artists and describes how these moments have molded him into the successful producer he is recognized as today.  

Ziv Haddi is a Master of Media in Journalism and Communication student at Western University. He produced the following presentation as a fulfillment of his capstone project for the program and, in part, while pursuing an internship at q with CBC.

Danny Gold is a journalist who wears many hats. He’s a correspondent, producer and director covering stories about crime, conflict and politics. You may have come across his reporting from places like war-torn Iraq, Gaza during the Israeli-Hamas conflict of 2014, and gang-strongholds in El Salvador. Danny has freelanced for such publications as Vice News, The Guardian, HBO, and the New Yorker.
