I like this song so much because of how the lead guitar sound, and how the synth (is that what that was?) At the beginning makes it sound all calm then the guitar comes in. SO HEAVY🤘🏻

Darkwave is an experimental music project built on old-school thrash metal riffing with an outlook to symphonic, progressive and electronic influences. Darkwave's debut material (Hexapla, released in August, 2021; the title being a reference to the monumental, six-fold opus by Origen of Alexandria around 200 A.D.) intends to be a small, but determined step towards a synthesis of different sub-genres rooted in the rich legacy of past and contemporary thrash metal standard-bearers. Despite its intimate connections with thrash metal, Darkwave's music often deviates from the classical concept of the genre (e.g. the rapid, catching tempo generated by tight rhytmicity), and either get dissolved in power, doom, or symphonic metal themes, or embrace musical influences from the progressive, electronic or even jazz scenes. 

Such a diverse mixture of different styles is seldom intentional, but rather instinctual, reflecting both the character of the composer and the impact of all the bands that influenced the songwriting process. Darkwave approaches this advent of the "best achievable music" as nothing else but an endless march towards musical perfection and improving sound quality. 

Darkwave is a one piece band, meaning that all the duties from songwriting through playing the guitar to recording, mixing and promotion lay on the shoulder of one single person. The debut material (Hexapla) intends to be a small, but determined step towards some kind of a synthesis of various sub-genres rooted in the rich legacy of past and contemporary thrash metal standard-bearers. Hexapla is an instrumental album, indicating Darkwave’s intention to synthesize various musical inputs into one massive instrumental thrash metal experiment. Careful selection of Hexapla’s cover image was also part of this approach: the cover art was photographed and generously provided by a long time friend and talented photo artist, Dávid Ujhelyi.
