Nothing but tears is a song about how difficult it can be to leave someone even when you know it’s the right thing to do. The physical attraction is there and that's what keeps pulling you back but you just can't get along.

Before becoming a solo/singer-songwriter artist, Graham was part of a band called 'The Leeches'. In 2013 The Leeches recorded a 4 song EP at the studio of Sean Corcoran at Bikini Island studios. 

The songs from this EP were never released to the world and sat idly on a laptop in Graham Coe’s home. Graham found the tracks and after consulting with the rest of the lads in the band they agreed they needed to be released once and for all. 

The Leeches were a band of friends that grew up and played music together from an early age in Blessington, Co.Wicklow. The line up consisted of Graham Coe (vocals, keys, guitar), Jesse Booth (vocals and bass), and Trevor Gyves (guitar) and on the recording they hired the wonderful Colin Downey (the son of Thin Lizzy legend Brian Downey) to play the drums. 

The songs on this EP came to fruition very organically via numerous jam sessions at Graham’s parents house in Golden Hill, Co.Wicklow and at Trevor’s house in Rathmore, Co.Kildare. They immediately booked Bikini Island Studios run by Sean Corcoran to record the tracks for posterity and possible release. 

Given the fact that it’s the 10 year anniversary since it’s recording we thought it the perfect time to release it. Although the band is no longer together all the members still keep in touch regularly to shoot the breeze and discuss all things music. To this day they all still  work in the music industry and continue to enjoy busy careers.

The Memories is a melancholic and nostalgic reflection and trip through time as seen through a persons eyes as they gaze over old photographs. It describes the myriad of conflicting feelings that this act generates in the way it can offer solace and comfort in times of strife, yet at the same time make a person think about what might have been and the life choices that have been made. In the song Graham writes “ I can’t stem the tide that makes me cry, when I think of all the things that have passed me by”.

The Memories

It’s a cry for guidance, help and love to help alleviate the inner demons that can arise when a person has doubts over the path that they have taken in life and whether they are the person that they envisaged becoming. In the song Graham writes “I need to believe, I’m the person I was meant to be”It describes a yearning for financial security and stability and highlights the importance of how a chat or some kind words and guidance from someone can help a person feel better about who they are and what they are doing.

In Take Your Chance Graham describes the battle that a person can have with over-thinking and worry and how exhausting that state of being can be.It’s essentially an ode to being a little easier on yourself and not to give the small things too much air time. It’s about being in the flow,enjoying the moment and taking a chance on something and seeing where it will bring you. 😀

“I’ve just never found the words” is a heartfelt ballad capturing the emotional struggle that a person can feel when they are too nervous or embarrassed to reach out to the person they love to communicate the depth of ones feelings. The song portrays love as something so deep that it leaves the speaker lost for words as no words can ever seem enough.
