"Boreal Twilight" is the second episode in Emmy-winning composer Kristopher Carter's Seasons Suite for Piano and Orchestra. The tour through the Four Seasons was initially inspired by the isolation of the 2020 pandemic and chronicles our collective journey out of it. While the first episode, "Autumn Ruminations," reflected the impending uncertainty of the pandemic lockdowns, "Boreal Twilight" paints a scene that while life may appear frozen and still on the outside, inside is an unquenchable desire to reach out and connect. In the spirit of the pandemic times, the piece was recorded remotely with the various musician performances mixed together after the fact. The recording will be released on all major digital outlets on Friday, January 27, 2023.

Join me on a year-long journey to experience a set of musical episodes for piano and orchestra initially inspired by the tumult of 2020. The first single, “Autumn Ruminations,” is now available, on all major digital and streaming outlets.

With the world gripped by a global pandemic, concerts cancelled and venues shut down, I found myself, like most musicians, sheltering at home with too much time to think. Struggling to journal my thoughts and feelings about the situation, I found music spoke where words were difficult to come by. To me, music is a universal language, relatable to all with no words needed.

I composed and orchestrated “Autumn Ruminations” in August, 2020, and, with life emerging from the pandemic predicted to take a year or more, I set out to create a set of signposts through the change of seasons towards, hopefully, better days. I’ll be releasing new episodes in Winter and Spring, 2021, and, in Summer, 2021, release the complete work as an EP as well as concert publication.

My passion is to take listeners on a journey through new worlds and create a space for them to reflect and process their own emotions. I invite you to listen and enjoy this piece!
